The Azumanga PVP Tespia Report

I PVP'ed basically all day yesterday, and this is what my observations have seen thus far:

I only used an F/P there to see how they would performed, and once I got used to it, I was almost always in the top 3 at every free-for-all (Azumanga of Tespia). The only times that my person did not make the top three is if there were other archmages that were more skilled (and less laggy) than me. In terms of Tespia, they all but dominate the playing field. As many threads would agree, F/P are really strong there.

From an F/P perspective, these are the only other classes that tended to give me a run for my money (besides other FP/IL archmages):

Heroes (A good one can persistently chop me up.) Other explorer warriors could also be potentially painful a well-timed Magic Crash.. But the damage output of the heroes was the only one of the three that managed to dice me up repetitively (but only if they were clearly good at it).

BM/MM (BowMaster Hurricane spam really hurts. Marskmen are a little slower, but the ice element is tough to deal with too)

As for the rest:
All thieves in Tespia are at a server handicap: Shads/NLs because of a summon rock deficiency and DB because they can't use their 4th job skills.. so don't call them weaklings just yet (Although right now, they can't really do much of anything because of the said handicaps).

I don't know why, but I never seen 'any' pirate get the better of me yet. I solo most buccs easily and I haven't faced enough sairs.
Most mechs I seen were just limiting their potential by spamming siege mode and I kept getting behind them and beating them up... I bet they actually would be difficult if they weren't all being so silly <.<

Battle Mages... I never really see them do too well in general... I know I seen a lot of them in Tespia, since I seen a lot of human tornados, but I never seen them do anything noteworthy.

Arans & Evans are also crippled due to the lack of being able to learn/use their best skills.. I haven't seen any of those two classes doing much as a result.

WH - Theoretically, they should be just as threatening (if not more) as MM & BM, but I haven't ran into too many in general to judge.

Bishops - basically less potent mages that can last longer. If bishops were good at getting out of the fray, they may be rather difficult (especially since you can use Doom if you had the Magic Rocks) but otherwise I never had much trouble with them..

I think that covers all the classes. Since archmages have the upper hand in Tespia, I'm a little psyched about getting PvP in GMS but at the same time I'm pretty sure things are going to be a lot more difficult there. Arans/Evans/DBs will actually get to use all of their skills, and the ever-so-abundant thief population will be chewing up their summon rocks left and right (Even though that would be really expensive!) Keeping that in mind, I am sort of thinking that nearly all classes potentially have a decent chance in PvP... although... just between you and me... I think the Explorer Pirates might be at a slight disadvantage.. but maybe that's just me.

I should let you all know, unlike the rest of the game, PvP will be run on Real Time, so your ping and your connection will definitely define your performance in the matches.

I PVP'd with My BaM(Todlisall) in tespia. I think he's pretty decent, though I admit he's a bit slow, but has a lot of useful pvp attacks like the tornado and especially the chains.

I still get that stupid tespia log in error

If that's the case, it's no wonder the pirates were lacking. Most of the Buccs I saw were using demolition, though... and I did see a flock of seagulls at one point.

I heard lag can really screw people up in PVP. D:
Has it affected your pvp?
Yes, very much. Because I lag in Tespia PVP, I am unable to do the TeleMastery-Paralyze lockdown which is extremely effective for f/p archmages... in fact I resorted to not using Teleport Mastery in the arena at all because of how much it slows me down because of the lag.. as a result, another archmage who is less laggy will tend to show me up whenever I am in a room with them... but like I said from the beginning, if I wind up being the only archmage in the room, I am almost always the winner.

Sounds partially more interesting than before. Once Dualblades can use 4th job skills in PvP though, I'm expecting what little amount of fun there is to melt away.

Evans can snipe flame wheel from a far or use tele-killer wings. How buggy is the PvP ?

I PvP'd with you a couple of times on my bishop .
Btw, I think bishops are the best at PvP, They can heal - although heal has a CD-, and BigBang hits 5 times. When I PvP'd i was usually the top three and i lagg like hell.
BM doesnt spam huricane because the delay on hurricane is really long, so its speed is like a normal attack in PvP, So BM would spam fire arrow, hits more than one and has DoT as far as i know.
BaM are not bad, but the fact that thier main attack is a melee attack, makes it kinda bad at PvP, as players usually keep jumping and stuff ,but twister, dark gene and dark shock are pretty good there. when i used shield, it didnt work in PvP and i was still getting hit, im not sure if it really doesnt work because i was kinda laggy.

I told ya I haven't faced enough sairs in PVP... for some reason, however, I had less of a tough time knocking one out compared to archers... I want to say that it's because Archers have a higher critical hit ratio. Because of that, BowMasters would rack up more damage/points than sairs because of the fact that the damage system works differently there.. don't quote me on that, though, because I'm still not sure how the damage system works there exactly..

If you say hurricane hurts, wouldn't sair rapid fire be on par?
Lol omg I played with you 2 days ago. I was on a hero (demolition), and you are freaking beast with f/p at pvp. I had to save every magic crash on you.
Haha, thanks. And I remember you. I think you were the first Warrior that showed me how much Magic Crash hard-counters mages. Like I said though, because of my lag, less laggy archmages will show me up. For me I can only spam paralyze once every full second, and it's so bad in Tespia I can't use Teleport Mastery because it slows me down considerably while trying to register the extra damage output. And if you seen other harsh F/Ps besides me, you'll know that Tele Mastery is one of the key things that mess up people that get near them..
I remember you from around 2 years ago, on my BL [Idk what character, though] Nice to see your still playing your FP.

Hey there! Yeah, I still play -- not as much as I used to, but LHC is really nice to me as-is, so at least I have an easy leveling method to fall back on
Pfft if I knew how to control a BaM I would've beaten you f3
Maybe The way I see it is that Battle mages are more of a support class compared to archmages, so there's a bit of a power difference. I think they would make better 'Team Battle' players potentially.. with that being said, A battle mage that would use advanced dark aura should be pretty decent there in general.. do BaMs get that skill in Tespia?

Shadow partner in pvp does not require rocks.
Shadowers can use shadowpartner without a rock only in pvp. i always did that
Oh really? I didn't know that... That's weird though, because I saw either a NL or NW (Don't remember which) using triple throw without a shadow partner, and I sorta pitied the guy before melting him..

I don't see too many shadowers in PVP as of right now, but I do remember one getting in first place before. Just like in PvE (Player vs. Enemy) they basically spam boomerang step. and occasionally assaulter. It's pretty limited, but I guess it gets the job done.

I will probably rage quit during PvP because I always tend to lag in "competitive game" situations. Whenever I use CoH, I lag until CoH is done.
