I was not aware that guilds existed which fell underneath this classification.

From my experience, it's more individuals, or groups of people working together/competing with each other that give off this vibe. They either have something to prove, or a purpose like controlling a market which requires you to have quite a few mesos.

There are only a handful of truly active guilds in most worlds ever since the guild size limit doubled. In my opinion, guilds themselves now have less "purpose", and are more a collection of different groups like bossers, merchers, afkers, newbies, etc.

Which is all a very long way of saying it doesn't matter what "type" of guild you're joining. What matters is how active/respectable it is.

I'll head to Windia, can anybody recommend me a guild known for it's relaxed and easy going nature between members? I'm looking more towards a social aspect as opposed to power to control.

Well there are quite a few people on Bera and we always welcome more people there are a few guilds that are focusing on the social aspect while doing a few bosses and such
