Just a thought

I'm an old Mapler, but not as old as others. Started Maplestory when Kradia was the newest world in GMS. I've seen enough content come and go and Maple's community go from friends and guilds that were just like family to solo missions.

But this is not what my thread will be about.

Accuracy used to play a big role in deciding how often you'd be able to hit a monster, but now it seems like accuracy plays no factor anymore since you will miss no matter how high your accuracy is. It just matters on your character level. I think Nexon should do something that makes Accuracy count for something again, like make it tie into critical. Higher accuracy means you're more likely to find your target with more precision.

Oh wells, just my thought. Go and discuss if you'd like.

[quote=KungfuuMango]Most classes used dex stat for their secondary stat which in turn was the factor deciding their accuracy, secondary stats are nonexistent therefor, if they were to reinstate this old "accuracy" system or we'd miss all of our targets.
I think the main reason why they took it out was because thief classes were getting too much of an edge being able to take on higher level mobs and leveling faster.

Well the point kind of was there would be factors in a class being good other than just damage, as it is now. Having many factors to balance each other out in different classes provides much more class distinction and would make things more interesting. Like before, warriors would hit harder but would actually have to think about putting in dex to compensate for the low accuracy while sacrificing a bit of damage. Archers on the other hand did not hit as hard but had naturally high accuracy so they would land their hits.

Maple now is pretty purely systematic, with obvious powerful classes based solely on numbers. Honestly there's more thrill with more systems implemented together in the creation of a class.

I think that is a good idea. Accuracy should add to your critical dammage. It'd make accuracy actually useful.

@Cauim: At that point, I was more referring to real life as in archery for a prime example. A higher accuracy would mean you'd hit the target at a higher rate than at a lower accuracy.

As a phantom, accuracy into crit chance may not play favorably to me.

Adding to crit% seems to be the logical way to go about things.

@Above: can you link me to the post? I'm curious.

Yeah I remember making a warrior and accuracy was a big thing when going all strength or low dex. They should factor in accuracy
