Missing files from my Maple Story folder
I've been experiencing a lot of problems getting Maple Story to work in recent days on my PC.
At first, I laid most of blame on my anti-virus program--AVG Anti-Virus--since it's been claiming that Gamelauncher.exe is a "harmful program" a lot lately and deleting it, and nowadays, trying to login through the website just gets me an "Error Report" message.
I haven't found any good solutions to this problem both here and on Nexon's forums, so I simply decided to download Maple Story on my laptop.
Having just downloaded it on my laptop to see if I might have better luck with it here, I compared Maple Story's folders on both of them and found that several files that were in the laptop's Maple folder were missing from the PC's Maple folder.
The files are: Canvas.dll, Gr2D_DX8.dll, PCOM.dll, ResMan.dll, Shape2D.dll, ZLZ.dll, Sound_DX8.dll, and NameSpace.dll.
Puzzled, I placed these files as well as Gamelauncher.exe in a stick drive to send them over to the PC's Maple folder.
First, I just added Gamelauncher.exe, but trying to use it still got me the "Error Report" message.
Afterwards, I added the 8 .dll flies and tried to run GameLauncher again.
This time, I got success. The game loaded up and finally started working, although it's now a little unresponsive/laggy and randomly disconnects a little often.
So, to any knowledgeable folks here at Basilmarket, I have these questions:
1) What are these 8 .dll files for?
2) Why were they missing from my PC's Maple Story folder in the first place?
3) Are they all necessary in order for Maple Story to run properly?

@Baroo: Ohh I didn't read that part, then with those files, it must have been important. I had that problem a while back, but hasn't happened to me since. *knocks on wood* It should fix when you continuously update patches now, since you have them in your folder, they will be updated to the recent ones when patch updates come around.

After adding the 8 .dlls, everything loaded properly when I attempted to use Gamelauncher.
But after the game DC'd a few times, certain parts began to fail to properly load everytime I tried to log back on using Gamelauncher (mostly just Nexon's adds about what's new in the Cash shop and all).
When you open the GameLauncher, does it load properly, or does nothing apart from the Play button load?

That's the point, though.
I wasn't able to run the game at all whether through Gamelauncher or the website until I added those 8 .dlls files to my Maple folder.
While I'm not sure that my problem is exactly the same as everyone else's, it definitely shares the same symptoms.
Uhm. I would think that if you can start up regularly without those files, it doesn't affect you. The increase in people this week logging in might have something to do with your lag. New update released + x2 events and all. The Dcing, I have no idea. I DC when i channel surf for no reason and I am not missing any files. So I don't know about that :o.
