For all you woodworkers out there

I'm looking to make a wizard's wand out of ebony and I don't know what finish to use. What do?

Sorry, should've mentioned what my options: shalac, lemon oil, tung oil, polyacrilic gloss, and bees wax

just use anything lol
poly oil, tung oil, linseed oil, danish oil, Scandinavian oil, lacquer...just make sure you sand it before you apply finish

Or just rub it with linseed or tung oil. That's what a lot of craftsmen who work with ebony on musical instruments use.
It'll give it more of a natural look also.
