Help me become a soccer player

Soccer has always been my favorite sport, but I have never played for a team because of pressure I felt from my parents to pursue academics and other sports. However, this year i have finally convinced my parents to let me play for my school. Because of family issues I haven't been able to spend much time on a field this summer but I will be coming home soon (in a week or so?) and I will have two weeks until try outs. What can I do during this week when I only have access to a pool and some steps? What should I do when I have two whole weeks free? I've already started to think this over a good amount but I want to see what other ideas basil can come up with.

Right now all I can think of is juggling, running, practicing passes, etc. by myself.

Thanks in advance!

Take every opportunity you can to play. I currently play on 2 teams. (Advanced and then Travel) I also plan to try out for the high school team in the spring. Do a few hours of juggling and dribbling a day. And lots of practice. I have practice Mon - Thurs, then special fitness practices Saturday.

I have two months, so I guess I'm in a better position.
If you have played soccer before for club activities, I'm sure you'll just need some minor improvements.
First work on cardio. Cardio is key.
After that work with the ball. Ball control is the most important, more important than shooting. It is better to be able to make great passes than to make decent shots.

Soccer is a very tiring sport. You need to be able to run at least 3 miles straight. Most soccer players run 5 miles in an average game.

I'd say first run then learn the position you wanna be, a defender, golie, midfielder, or forward.

I think you should try playing against other people. It's very different playing by yourself.
