Anyone else having trouble with the Report function?

The last few days the Report function from peoples' forum posts has been acting oddly for me.

Quite often clicking "Report" results in nothing happening, as if javascript has stopped working, but all the other functions on the line (Delete, Quote and so on) work instantly when clicked. Sometimes reloading the page helps, but very often I have to close the page and reload it from the main forum page before Report will work.

Makes it pretty tough cleaning up a badly spammed thread or one where everyone is discussing NX selling or whatever...

I've noticed the number of reports in the queue has been stuck at 32 for a couple of days. I haven't cleared any to see if the number changes, but at least for now it looks like nothing new is going into the report queue.

Works for me.

I didn't reply to spider's PM. Good work giving them a high suspension. Repeat offenders deserve zero leniency.

Yes... unfortunately it feels like the rest have drifted away to other places and we're left with the hardcore who have no other place to go, or who think it's their divine right to troll Basilmarket forever.

Spider says he understands how it works now, and he'll behave from now on.
I got the same PM from them, I explained it's because they keep breaking the rules.

Last night they posted a spam thread in General Maplestory that garnered two pages of similar spammy replies, including many from the OP egging everyone else on. Given that they know this is a violation of the rules (since they've been suspended many, many times before for exactly the same thing), I gave them a High suspension which resulted in their new account being deleted. God only knows how many times that's happened before.
Spamming, multiple accounts, attacks on other players, sexual innuendos, you name it.
And (s)he's back again with Spidddderexe today, not understanding what they did wrong.
I got the same PM as well. Kinda reminds me of Loki in the way he just keeps coming back, confused why he was banned. I'm not responding to the PM because it's likely he just looking for an inconsistency from replies from us.
Spiderexe sent me a PM asking why their accounts keep getting deleted. I noticed they post a lot of borderline spammy comments; is that the main reason?
Thought it was just me. I usually go to their Posts page and suspend from there. =/
Same goes with New Users suspensions, which is still broken.

Annoying...but at least there's a workaround.

@Pavchka what happens if you try to suspend from their Posts page?
Quite literally nothing. When I hit "Submit" I'm send back to the post page with the selected post still there and no new report on the poster's record.

Spiderexe sent me a PM asking why their accounts keep getting deleted. I noticed they post a lot of borderline spammy comments; is that the main reason?

EDIT: Heh, I think I blew it when I tried to explain to Thiefy996 that the rules page isn't up-to-date. >_>

I have also had the same issue with suspending users from posts (and thread starting posts). I tried it in Firefox and Chrome too. I PM'd mrbasil about it. So, hopefully he'll be able to find a fix.

Other users in the Site Talk forum say they've seen similar issues with the report button: http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/2824825

As BobR said, the workaround only works around so far. This post ( http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/2824499/1/#45750417 ) where a user tells someone to shut up, I'd like to see some action taken. But, the report/suspend button doesn't work on their post. And the post is not recent enough to be seen on that user's "Posts" page on their BasilID.

Unfortunately with someone like Spidderexe, he posts so much in so many threads the spam thread he made in General Maplestory doesn't show up on his Posts page, so at least for the moment he's getting away with murder.

Now it's not working even if I open the thread again from the main forum page...

Edit... ah. something interesting.. someone in Spider's thread says the Report button isn't working for them either (apparently they wanted to report the thread, but no cigar).

Oh.. and a thread in Site about it. Apparently it's not working for anyone. Guess I'll PM Mr. B. about it.

Yep, the reports button isn't working for me either. In fact I can't suspend people from their posting records either. Looks like we're wielding a rubber hammer instead of a banhammer today.
