Hero

I really didnt want to make this thread, but.

On my hero I currently have I believe 72% crit with enrage, and I should be getting decent SE gloves soon.
My min crit is 49% and my max is 53%, and I am wearing the adventurer ring that gives 15% crit and 5% min crit. (Using cards of course)

What should I pick for the Sylph ring? And does it really matter (As in should I wear it?).
I can't really see how min crit would help me much unless I took off the crit ring, but even then it would be throttled by the max crit and my crit chance would be much lower.
And on the flip side I fail to see how max crit would help because I'd have to take off another one of my gollux rings in order to wear it right?

Can someone give me some insight into this? What do you guys think?

Edit: Also my ignore is pretty decent and status resistance high enough to where a potion can give me 100%.

Hero base critical stats Min: 20% Max: 50% (Enrage adds 15% min) (puncture adds 20%min/max)
(formula: (%damage with crit)/(%damage without crit) )
With Advanced Combo attack (Reinforced 2.2x), Min: 9.1% Max: 22.7% (ex of formula: (ACA + crit)/(ACA) = (2.2+0.5)/(2.2) = 0.227 = 22.7%)
With Advanced Combo attack (Reinforced 2.2x) with puncture, Min: 18.2% Max: 31.8%
With Advanced Combo attack (Reinforced 2.2x) and Enrage, Min: 9.9% Max: 14.2% (ex of formula: (ACA*enrage + crit)/(ACA) = (2.2*1.6+0.5)/(2.2*1.6) = 0.142 = 14.2%)
With Advanced Combo attack (Reinforced 2.2x) and Enrage with Puncture, Min: 15.6% Max: 19.9%
What these number means? Crit lines is 15.6%-19.9% higher than non-crit lines.

Your current crit status: Min:34%, Max: 53%, Rate:72%
With Advanced Combo attack (Reinforced 2.2x) and Enrage with Puncture, Min: 19.6% Max: 20.7%
(19.6%+20.7%)/2 = average crit damage = 20.15%
20.15% * crit rate = crit damage contribution to overall damage = 20.15% * 0.72 = 14.51%

If you replaced your crit ring with Slyph min-crit, your new crit status: Min:39%, Max: 53%, Rate 62%
With Advanced Combo attack (Reinforced 2.2x) and Enrage with Puncture, Min: 21% Max: 20.7%
(Because your min crit is higher than max crit, min crit is now the new max crit, and the old max crit is now the new min crit)
(21%+20.7%)/2 = average crit damage = 20.85%
20.85% * crit rate = crit damage contribution to overall damage = 20.15% * 0.62 = 12.93%

Conclusion, (new/old = 1.1293/1.1451 = 0.986) Your overall damage will decrease by 1.4% if you switch your crit ring for Slyph ring (note because enraging blow have 2 guaranteed crit, the difference might be slightly even smaller) (does not take into account the stats from the rings)
But the raw stats gain from wearing the Slyph ring has the potential to actually increase your overall damage instead (You can also drill a nebulite onto the ring) (simply if the raw stats increases your damage range by more than 1.4%, it should be enough to make up for the loss in crit damage)
So what you're saying is basically what I was thinking? It's not worth it?
In that case, would getting a status resistance ring be useful for going against bosses where dying a lot is a possibility be a better option?
Yeah. I don't think it's worth it. I also use a grand adventurer crit ring and that's way better IMO.
For the status resistance ring, I think that's a good idea, since it'll just be a situational kind of thing (i.e. Empress, CRA, CPB, etc.)
I don't think any of the other rings will provide any kind of utility, so eh, why not?
A resistance potion doesn't go away if you die anyway, so you don't really need any of the rings.
Just pick the one with the best looking summon
oooo what do the summons look like?
I was experimenting with the Sylph ring (min crit) and noticed no significant good effect.
Granted I replaced a fully scrolled reinforced gollux ring (only 6% str) and my Sylph ring is clean as well.
I lost 50k range and it was not worth replacing with a Sylph ring
