Graphic Novels Vs Novels
Tonight, I have to do a lab report for Biology. So naturally, I'm wasting time on Basil. So I figured that I would make a thread that would interest me.
So, I ask you, people of BasilMarket chat section, what's better?
Graphic novels (Comics, Manga, etc) vs Novels (Y'know, with words and all that)
I'm an EXTREMELY heavy manga reader, so I'd say that.
Things to discuss:
-Which is more difficult to write
-Compare styles
-Quality of stories that you've read
-Favorite titles of each type.
Please answer seriously, I'm actually interested in your opinion.
Though, I think I know how it's going to turn out.

Most LA teachers will say graphic novels are just as good as reading novels because they teach you how to read pictures
Huh. Just as I predicted, Manga is winning out.

I'm sure writing/ illustrating a comic book/manga book is much harder than writing a novel, assuming that a single person is both doing the writing and the drawing. I like how manga/comic books have illustrations to give you a better idea of what's going on. I'm a very big normal-novel reader as well, but it's not as easy getting sucked into a 500 page picture-free book than it is to get sucked into an oftentime, not too thick graphic-filled book.For novels, you've got series like Harry Potter, and with manga/comic books/graphic novels you've got stuff like One Piece.So, all-in-all, I find it more relaxing to read a picture filled book so I don't have to worry about imagining what's going on, so, I side with manga/comic books/graphic novels/ whatever you want to call them.

I'm not too sure about the Novel part, but for manga, tell me what type specifically.
Battle Fantasy, Exploration Fantasy, etc?
I'd recommend Hunter X Hunter for Battle Fantasy, I always thought that it was brilliant.
Can you guys recommend me the best fantasy entertainment of both parties.
