maplestory storyline
da hell is up with the storyline. there's so many changes like i dont get the concept of transcendants and then all of a sudden friend story and it's so confusing. are people still following it

White Mage wanted more power.
Became the Black Mage.
Everyone else getting stronger to fight him.
Transcendents - basically the world doesn't know how to run itself so it needs people to manage Light, Life, and Time for it. To explain where these other worlds are coming from (the new ones that new classes have been coming from), Nexon added the concept that "a world that loses all its Transcendentalists will seek out to merge with another world to stabilize itself".
FriendStory is an alternate reality that is very similar to our world (so Nexon can make jokes like "Thanks Obama!" ), and also the events of FriendStory happened because the White/Black Mage of that reality is kinda becoming evil too.
It sounds a little weird but you have to remember this is a game so it doesn't need to make complete sense.
I think they're trying to concept the original explorers and we make our own story
Friendstory is supposed to be like an alternate universe (our universe) that doesn't have magic and stuff
Transcendents are needed to maintain worlds i think
Empress is gaining power
Blackmage broke the seal
Blackwings are defeated
They're attempting to expand the story without technically changing the original story line. Perhaps the game lasted longer than they had planned.
