Is everyone misusing the term quotPDRquot?

PDR is originated since Big Bang patch, when mob's defense system have changed into % based called PDR and MDR. I always think PDR stands for physical defense rate while MDR stands for magical defense rate.

But many people have been saying PDR instead of ignore enemy's defense or ignore monster's defense. I'm not quite sure why. We don't have PDR; I would interpret as mobs doing less damage to player. It makes sense to say Ignore enemy's defense because we are weakening mob's defense thus increase player's damage.

@Revolutionist: My bad, I misinterpreted what you said. I explained why I compared the two earlier

@UAPaladin: I said LHC is the English translation that kMS people use. Do I really need to repeat myself?

All you're doing is citing a reference where gMS's localization team translated it to LKC instead, which everyone in gMS knows.

It's like the Americans predominantly using the imperial standard for measurement when there is the internationally recognised and standardised metric system.

So as long as the message gets through, I'd say it doesn't matter.

@Revolutionist: You have it backwards. LKC is the English name that was translated, LHC was the KMS name. Proof that it's LKC translated

My point to that was that people started calling it something initially and it stuck, like with what happened with PDR.

I always thought PDR = Physical Damage Reduction and MDR = Magical Damage Reduction. And PDR would also be the same as ignoring enemy defense :S
Not really. LHC is the English name translated from Korean by kMS people.
Some other examples are Mikhail -> Mihile, Eunwol -> Shade
Because that's what people started saying and that's what stuck. Kind of like how people called the training place LHC when it was actually LKC

Mobs and bosses both have a defense, If you have "PDR", you can say pdr = porcentage of defese reduction. 50% pdr = porcentage of reduction on the mob/boss's defense by 50%. There is also no magical defense value on any mob/boss but rather elemental defense value on some bosses.
I think it's just coincidence that people think PDR = Percent damage reduction. Otherwise our potential would've say like "Percent Defense Reduction +30%" which is not.

Mob's defense is categorized into PDR or MDR. If you look at hidden-street for example they have monster's PDR and MDR info.

I mean it as Physical Defense Reduction... It's also much easier to say '' I have 60% PDR '' rather than '' I have 60% Defense Ignore ''

IED didn't stick, now when you talk about PDR we can all be confused! (Character has x% P/MDR to reduce damage taken, Mobs have y% P/MDR for damage reduction, and players have z% PDR to ignore enemy P/MDR >.> )

I still go with IED, one day it'll return...

I'm pretty sure people are just lazy and would rather type 3 letters than type out the phrase, "Ignore enemy defence"..
