getting samsung galaxy s3

So, basil I am thinking of getting the new smartphone samsung galaxy s3. As heading to university, I feel I need some sort of smartphone and since s3 is the newest addition to the market I thought of getting it.
So if any of you have any experience with s3 or have heard from someone with s3, can you please give me a feedback on this phone?
Is it fast, not laggy and is it reliable to get? Any possible drawbacks?

Don't get the iPhone 5. If you do, you're gonna have to get different docks and stuff since it's getting smaller.
As for the GS3, I think it's freaking HUGE. I have the GS1 and it can barely fit in my hands.
My friends has the gs3, though, and she's loving it.

It got great reviews from tech websites, but the biggest drawback (for me) is, it's size.

The one thing that annoys me more than giant phones are people who take photos with tablets.

i have a s3 it's great and all but the giant ass screen is really annoying......
just wait for the iPhone 5, i have a feeling it's going to be amazing since there must have been a reason why Apple released the a phone (iPhone 4s) that was barely and upgrade from the iPhone 4.
edit; & im considering selling my s3 for iPhone 5 if its good

iPhone if you're fine with their UI and all.
Android if you want to go crazy and customize everything.

Honestly the S3 is too big. We spent the better part of the 90's and early 2000's trying to make smaller, more streamlined mobile phones, now it seems all the rage is talking into something the size of a brick.
