Thoughts on Maplestory?
DESCLAIMER: So I haven't been on in a while so I can only talk about Maplestory up until a week after Luminous was released (I quit).
So what are your thoughts on Maple and your thoughts on YOUR experience in Maple. (I don't want any of this omfg old tiems lol DDD mapel potential and coobs!)
Like... OVERALL what do you think of it.
I think it's an okay game overall.
Gameplay is just button mashing though...
Environments are really pretty for a 2D game.
In-game transactions were okay at first but then plagued the game in the long run. (lots of $$$ for nexon tho)
Soundtrack is AMAZING (not just talking about the generic crap like Crimsonwood, ToT, Ereve, Ellen? forest, and Cygnus garden?) but OVERALL the music is fantastic.
Community (as far as i was concerned in Broa) is... hit or miss to be honest.
-Hit: People you could have conversations with about RL life stuff, people with personalities, people who do more than just play Maple.
-Miss: "LAWLS DESUU F6 F3 F3 F6", -craphead who just grinds and says nothing to you-, people with an ego because their $10,000 dollar claw is a bit better than yours
Personal experience: made a number of friends on this actually... I still talk to some of them (rarely but still) after 7 years.
Going to be sad to see this game die in a couple years (4?)

Quit maple before it sucks your soul... its too late for me...
I haven't played MS in a very,very long time. Used to be addicted to it when I was younger. Skipped a whole lot of school just to grind all day.
The community was really cool once you get around the dumb ones. I met a lot of cool people that I thought of as more than "in-game friends" and I still remember many of their names today, even though I don't know where they are or what they're doing.
I actually caught myself thinking about Maple and Basil this week, which explains why I'm here even though I haven't played in 4eva. Alos can't believe I made this acount in like...2008 lol
I love maplestory on the inside because of my history with it but it's not what it used to be...
On the other hand I found I love redstoning, command blocking, custom resourcepacking/mapping, and modding minecraft because I can do what I want to do with much less limitations. And the best part is there's no pay required and I can revisit old versions and etc. It's more lonely though...
if you dont boss or merch, you'll just afk all day....really boring to me now. I go on every now and then to check if there's events.
I just came back 48 hours ago. I think I'm going uninstall within the next week
its meh after people disappeared. World of tanks is much better

I was only a kid when maplestory took me from behind, bent me over and took my... wallet.
I became an addict, the rush of being the best consumed my life. It would be on my mind 24/7, I couldn't stop. Honestly I love this game to death, it's my favourite game no matter much nexon keeps pissing me off I keep logging on. I did take an extended break to play league, plat 5.
I think it is a very fun game, but the gap between good and bad is GIGANTIC. Since they had the Hermes Cubes event (free cubes up to unique, however can only be used on lv 99 and below equips, and makes them untradeable) it was starting to be a good game, but its an event and only lasted a week or two. Like you're either good or bad at this game. No in between
MS is like a drug to me....i started playing 8 years ago and went 3-4 years strong, after that i can quit for a year and not care, but its still always in the back of my head then i relapse and re-install and get hooked for another 4-5 months.
Still play this game and always will (until I get bored which I haven't yet) <<< And for all of you. This game won't die until either Korea nexon stops making updates or maplestory america stops making updates, the game can die, but not the creators themselves....
