Ubuntu Linux Help!
Heya, so i've been having a lot of trouble running ms on my current computer as I lag like crazy and dc every 10 min or so. (no joke, ask guildies) I built a computer a while back, but I had some problems which i hadn't bothered fixing, but my current computer is driving me up the wall so i've decided to move to my new computer. The operating system i've decided to use is ubuntu (a linux based OS), but i'm not sure if maplestory will run on it. Anyone knows anything?

You can run MapleStory on ubuntu, but in my experience it is difficult. You will have to use virtual box or VMware and install a windows distro on it. Basically, you have to have windows. Message me when you start to do it, there are certain things that you have to do to make it work correctly.
VirtualBox and Maple together should work. Basically, it runs Windows on MACs, Linux...
MapleStory itself won't run by itself on a Linux. WINE doesn't work with Maplestory either.
I spotted this thread on the Ubuntu forums about someone who claims to have gotten Maplestory running under Ubuntu.
Note that you'll need VMware and a Windows installation CD.
Maplestory is a Windows ONLY game, so essentially you have to run Windows in an emulator under Linux and then run Maplestory in Windows like you normally would. All of which usually adds up to a big headache, and no Maplestory.
I've never heard of a user running maple on a linux dist. I'd reccomend you to stick to windows 7 if you are planning to play maple.
