Earring Infection Help

I noticed that my ear was pretty swollen probably from an infection, & so far I've done these steps...
1. Take out my earring
2. Wipe away the blood & puss
3. Used the anti-infectant liquid thing they give you & dabbed it with cotton on my ears & soaked my earring with it
4. Applied antibiotic cream onto my ear

Have I done anything wrong or am I doing it right? Is there anything else I should do?
Will the hole close up?

Please help with responses, thank you

@cyberdudelol I don't remember the exact measurements, but what @jotaku said sounds right to my memory, and what she also said is very important: to make certain you're using non-iodized sea salt specifically.

hope it all heals up man :o

@VassupBruno Holy crap that is really helpful, I made a mistake in getting the butterfly clasp ones
Tonight I'm just going to use the antibiotic cream I have
Also, is there a certain ratio of salt to water I should have for soaking my ear in?
But overall, thanks a lot. This was really helpful

as @xtnaduhs said you shouldn't have taken out the earring, but it's too late for that now.

I would recommend to stop using whatever ear "cleaning fluid" you were given and switch to doing sea salt soaks. do the sea salt soaks a couple times a day and don't touch your ears. also don't use cotton swabs or cotton balls to wash with because the cotton fibers can sometimes irritate the infection or even come off and get into the infection further irritating it. I would use gauze if I were you and just dab at it lightly. Or get a small cup or bowl and fill it all the way up and just let your ear sit in it for a while.

I'd leave the earrings out and just let it heal, if you want your ears pierced again after they've healed up then you can, but make sure you go to a good piercer and try to avoid having butterfly clasp earrings during healing as they tend to harbor bacteria. The best material for healing piercings is 316L steel or implant grade titanium. Don't be fooled by the term "Surgical steel" as that doesn't really mean anything. Good luck and I hope it heals up fine man, that's a bust

@milkocha Lol this is my first time with an infection (also an earring) so I panicked A LOT
Right now its swollen & slightly red, but it hasn't bled for a while now
I think the ear-piercer was at fault here for putting it on tight, because now there is like damaged skin & exposed flesh (a little) around where the hole should be (is this bad)
I'm guessing I'm done with earrings?

@cyberdudelol I've had an infection in my ear once and my hole is starting to close up but there's this small... ball (?) in there. I have no idea what it is but it's annoying and I guess it's from the infection. Now everytime I try to wear earrings, my ear starts bleeding lol. It'll heal soon~

@Milkocha Damn probably...
@Xtnaduhs Yeah I figured that out a little too late ... But right now I have antibiotic cream over both sides of my hole.
No I haven't, I will try that now
And as of now, I'm not putting it back it because I'm pretty sensitive to blood & accidentally poking myself I'm a real baby when it comes to bleeding like that
It isn't healed as of now
I could really use some help when you can offer it
