My theory on who is inside Spiral Zetsu

So if you havent seen Hidan and Kakuzu vs Chiriku then look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xyy3jyblT4

Now, if you have noticed Spiral Zetu's appearance in the manga recently you could see he was ontop of a buddha like statue with hands forming concentric rows on its back.
AKA the Sage Art: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands

http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Sage_Art:_Wood_Release:_True_Several_Thousand_Hands

If you could read closely this titanic beast can only be used with Sage Jutsu.
How does this relate to Chiriku you ask? Well here is the answer.
In the beginning of the video Kakuzu notes that the Temple of Fire in the Land of Fire is no ordinary temple. With this during the fight Chiriku used the "Welcoming Approach: Thousand-Armed Murder" which strongle resembles the titanic buddha like figure in the "Sage_Art:_Wood_Release:_True_Several_Thousand_Hands".

Kakuzu further notes that "All of the monks control a special power known as Gift of the Sages

This is further corroberated by the fact that Spiral Zetsu cannot use Sage Art so this means he needs a body like Chiriku's with the Gift of the Sages to be able to use the jutsu.

TLDR: Chiriku/ Powerful Monk is being totally controlled inside Spiral Zetsu
@darkchaso69 Assuming you're right and that Yamato is dead (neither you or the poster above you provided a source and I haven't read such an interview), the argument still holds no water. Itachi, Zabuza, and Haku were dead too. Heck, so was Madara and dozens of other ninja that I can't immediately recall. If there's one thing the time skip demonstrates, it's that death in the Narutoverse is reversible. Either way, who's to say Yamato has to be alive to be a container?

You're reading too much into the "gift of the sages", and how the technique actually looks. With Buddha being such a prominent figure in the east, implying anything this specific from a Buddha like technique is grasping on straws.

Yamato has Hashi's DNA. Perhaps using Yamato as a host enhances his Mokuton abilities to the point where he can do something of that magnitude. With Yamato essentially being an inferior Hashirama, it's surprisingly fitting that his version of the True Several Thousand Hands is smaller.

I'll stick with the theory that it's Yamato. It explains where he's been all this time and it's consistent with the fact that True Several Thousand Hands is a Mokuton technique.
Yamato is dead, and its not ONLY mokuton its also SAGE ART

I don't think Kishi even remembers who Chiriku is. He even forgot what Konohamaru's name was.

And Kishi said Yamato is dead.
Chiriku doesn't have hair though, and I doubt that they would suddenly make Chiriku relevent again.
although he has no hair it is HIGHLY POSSIBLE it is a monk or Chiriku.

Chiriku doesn't have hair though, and I doubt that Kishimoto would suddenly make Chiriku relevent again.
