Guess m wrong then. But who says that? Why not say " Thats what you get for NOT reading" Or Thats what you get for forgetting to read. Failing was just an awkward word for the situation.
@Darkstar764: Failing to do something has multiple meanings. One meaning can mean that you outright could not do something for whatever reason. For example, I failed the test because I did not study the material. The other meaning relates to neglecting to do an action. I did not pass the test because I failed to study. You are in the second meaning. You did not know how Monster Life worked because you failed to read.
After figuring this out I went back to the update notes and found this:
"Excluding the Special type, each monster of the same type will give the same kind of potential. The power of the potential will be based on the rank of the monster. Only 1 of each type of buff will be applied and the highest rank buff will always be used. Each special type monster will provide a unique potential."

Oh well maybe one day they will stack.
@Momijii:
Failing to read means i read but i didnt understand it correctly but if i didnt read then i could have failed to understand it.
Yes it is my fault but how are you gonna say i "failed to read" if i never read at all.
If you hover on the top right, you can see what buffs are active:

Just need to diversify, thats all.
That's what you get for failing to read.

It is true look at your monster book and click the my monsters button and there will be a list of the effects applied
The same potentials don't stack; only the best applies
