Why did they change maple so much? I have absolutely no idea where to grind now... Help please?

@Darkthrone: Meh, PQing as a beginner can be fun if you pick the right one. Leeching or not doesn't bug me as long as I'm enjoying myself.
This for most people.
Tricking them works, since usually they just right click names, and if you have good gear on [lolanvils] chances are they'll add you.
Tricking isn't recommended. I've unintentionally tricked people into adding me many times because of the gear I was wearing. It can either end well, or it can end in the most annoying event of the day.
Well, typically we shamelessly hoe ourselves out to parties hoping for an invitation.
That's what I did anyway.
I've never really tried, honestly.
Usually, Keeth's gotten into parties by simply being in the "wrong place at the wrong time."
Strangely enough, that's usually how he's gotten into guilds as well... *chuckles*
I'd like to see them give monsters an exp nerf, bosses an exp buff, and questing an exp buff. That would make the game a lot more exciting.
Oh definitely.
Bosses and quests give out pitiful exp.

I'd like to see this change to a more quest-centered game. It's called MapleSTORY after all.
I rather admire the exp system in Dragonica (Dragon Saga Online). Each new area has a lot of quests to do and bosses to take out and dungeons to tackle. Sure, you CAN grind if you want, but it's more viable to team up with parties and do quests and boss runs than destroy overworld monsters.

If I had any (good) ideas, I'd gladly share them with you.
This game isn't very welcoming to a Perma Beginner planning on (independently) grinding to gain his/her levels anymore. >_<
Either way, good luck with your Mapling.
@LittleTLK: Or they could just nerf all exp in general.
That's an option, too.
The pre-BB exp curve would work fairly well with the monsters and places we currently have, and it would help bring back PQs and quests from the dead.

@darkthrone:

Yeah, I'd like that, too. Maybe some new theme dungeons with interesting quest lines in the 80-130 area with some actually decent rewards.
I'd also like them to remove the exp nerf. I think it's painfully obvious that it's doing nothing to stop botting.

@darkthrone:

Well, to honest, it's about the same with all jobs, just on a longer timeline.

It's one of the reason I'd like a higher level cap and more areas and content rather than new jobs.
Leeching is waste of time?More waste of time then Lvl 116 Beginner?LOL
Its a waste of time because why create a character you don't know how to play because you always leech it and you don't appreciate the hard work put into it?

@Darkthrone:

That's not what I meant. I meant having fun in general with your character. Leeching isn't the goal and a high level isn't either.
To me, well...maybe it's just the social aspect. Without my friends on maple, I would hate playing, but especially my beginner.

I'll agree that it's only become less beginner-friendly, but it's still fun to derp around and play a bit more simple and laid back, though that may just be my own biased opinion.

@Darkthrone:

I meant for players in general, not just beginners.

And yes, after about 13x, the temptation to leech is generally too much.
however, if you still have fun with what you're doing, I see no reason to quit, lol.

@ArtofTrance:

Leveling just for the sake of leveling and not actually playing the character IS a waste of time compared to actually playing, even if you take forever, because, at least then, you're PLAYING THE GAME.
Which aliens are we talking about here?

Anyone in scania that knows me feel free to add me again please!
He means the aliens in NLC.

Nexon had an event where they dropped a nuke on NLC. It's all different now. If you start with a quest called "What's Quaking?" form the Mayor of NLC, it'll eventually lead you to the aliens. They're level 95 and give out 3K exp a pop with an HP of like...maybe 50-70K. I forget exactly. For its level, it's insanely good. Almost game-breaking and it leads to constant KS wars there. It's honestly the BEST place to train 80ish to 130, barr zakum arm solo or aswan hell grind, which would require level 120- characters with ranges that come close to 60-80K to be fast enough to match it.

PQs stay pretty good for a long time, though sadly beginners are even more useless in them now due to the hilariously high hp of most monsters now. Add to this how most pqs have been dumbed down to make them more hack-and-slashly, you can see our problem here.
That or leech... or windraiders are pretty okay I guess.
OH! I forgot about aliens, those are good. Hope you enjoy a lot of traffic and hackers though. (that is unless you stay in the maps with like... 2 aliens)

Steph since you're my friend I'll give you an actual response.
I believe the best place 120+ is from doing PQ's with friends.

I don't want to leech haha. Waste of time. Might as well not play if I have to leech. I'll just continue collecting cards and doing quests I guess
