How are college admissions going for you?

So I applied to:
Reach:
Claremont Mckenna - Denied
USC - Not out yet
UC Berkeley - Not out yet
UC Los Angeles - ACCEPTED SO HAPPY OMF

High Target:
Boston College - Accepted
NYU - Not out yet
Case Western - Waitlisted
UC San Diego - Waitlisted

High Match:
UC Davis - Denied

Match:
UC Irvine - Waitlisted
UC Santa Barbara - Accepted
Boston University - Accepted this afternoon!
Purdue - Accepted
Rensellear Polytechnic Institute - Accepted w/ 15k per year merit scholarship

Low Match:
Cal Poly SLO - Denied. wups.
San Jose State - Accepted
UC Riverside - Accepted w/ 5k per year merit scholarship
UC Santa Cruz - Accepted w/ 5k per year merit scholarship

To be honest, after I got rejected from UC Davis, waitlisted at UCSD and UC Irvine, I was freaking out about colleges and where I would be going, but Boston College came out on Thursday for me, and it was a pleasant surprise. And then UCLA came out yesterday and I nearly cried from happiness because it was such a high reach for me and the pool was so competitive this year. Kind of makes me question the system because it doesn't really make sense. If you want to know my stats, feel free to PM me. I applied Engineering for all the schools except for my reaches and NYU, in which I applied for Mathematics/Econ.

So, how did college admissions go for everyone else? I'm curious to find out, good luck to everyone!

@NonSonoFronz: Yeah, tbh, Duke isn't that high on my list. They're the last school I applied to and it was a last minute decision sort of thing. The 60k/year doesn't really bother me though because that's what basically every other school on my list costs.

No woops, that was my bad, I thought one of your posts said you did get into stern, was pretty clear in the OP.
Applied to:
University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign
Loyola University of Chicago
Notre Dame University
Johns Hopkins University
University of Miami (Florida)
Harvard University
Dartmouth College
Stanford University
Princeton University
Duke University

Results so far:
Accepted into University of Illinois, invited to join the James Scholar Honors Program at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Accepted into Loyola University with a scholarship of $20k/yr
Accepted into University of Miami with a scholarship of $26k/yr (this is currently my #1 choice of these 3 that I've been accepted to)

I haven't heard back from the other 7 yet, but I'll hear back from them all in less than 2 weeks. I'm probably going to make a thread about it too after I hear back from all of them because I'll need help with deciding which to go to. It's going to be a really tough decision because I don't have a #1 school and there are pros and cons to all of these schools.
You don't want to go to Dook. I'd be forced to hate you and I don't want to do that. I go to UNC and I've lived in NC my whole life so I know what goes on around here.
But real talk for a second, it's definitely not worth the 60k a year to attend. They don't really care about their undergrads at Dook, they only really care about their grad students.
Classes aren't terribly challenging and everyone there is a stuck up yuppie who brags about daddy's money. Not even kidding.
The name that comes with Dook is aight, but it's honestly not better than any other upper-tier school out there. So I wouldn't recommend going there unless you got a full ride.
And if you got a full ride to Dook I'm pretty sure you would get into a place like Harvard or Princeton or something... Which you could never turn down an offer from them.
@hypefire: Well, most of these were Common app schools, so the only downside was the 70 dollars I had to pay, but yes, the supplemental essays were kind of a pain. I just wanted as many options as possible, which turned out to be a good thing. UCs have had insanely low admission rates this year (estimated about a 10-15% decrease from last year) and a lot of friend's who have counted on getting in mid-tier UC's got rejected from all of them, leaving them only options in schools that don't even make the US news top 100 list.

@RitoPls: It's always been a dream of mine to go to NYU Stern tho o.o I just want to be another Sternie who thinks I'm better than everyone else!1!11 But in all seriousness, I applied because it's a good school with a lot of opportunities due to its location. Grats on the Stern acceptance. Definitely the place to go for IB, 85% in front office positions, no else comes close.

@deadtuna: Congrats to you on UCLA as well!
USC guaranteed me some sort of scholarship, but I still don't know the amount.
I come from a competitive school as well, so people applied to 15 colleges on average. (I applied to 20 haha. people may say im insane, but it was fun for me.)

I would go to USC over UCLA as well, but getting into UCLA yesterday was such a nice confidence boost (especially after getting waitlisted at chicago).
I applied to a few ivies, which all come out March31/April1. I am so excited/scared because these are my dream schools, but they are also my high reaches.
But I'd still be VERY very happy going to USC, so i'm delighted and define my high school career as a success no matter what my remaining decisions are.

Good luck on USC!

@QueenLorde: I would love to get in USC, at this moment, it is the only school that could possibly beat out UCLA for me, since I can get a guaranteed half scholarship there (National Merit Finalist)
@UAPaladin: Wow, those are tough schools to get into o.o I didn't even apply to top 20 schools for the most part because my GPA isn't competitive enough.

Good luck to both of you

@fradddd: People where I live are really competitive (Bay Area) so it's not uncommon to see someone applying to around 10 public schools as safeties (In this case it's all one application so it's easy) and then between 5-15 private schools.
Jesus Christ I've never heard of anyone applying to as many colleges as you guys.
All the highest ranked people in my class applied to 2 or 3 schools, and 80% of all the seniors just applied to the easy-to-get-in state school (Colorado State University or Uni of Northern Colorado).

Anyway, I applied to:
Santa Clara University (top choice)
Regis University
University of Colorado - Denver
University of Colorado - Colorado Springs

I got into all of them but SCU, so I think I'm gonna go to Regis. I got lots of financial help and a scholarship just by applying so...
One kid at my school applied to 18 different colleges. I was at a loss of words when he told me this. Writing the essays for 10 schools was hell; I can't even imagine what 18 would be like.

Everyone who goes to NYU is a loser.

And my future wife is a sophomore at UCLA. Lots of Asians there. Cool place. :^)

Can you PM me the things you've done throughout your high school years, I'm really interested and wondering if I ever have a chance with these schools next year. 6 people from my school got accepted yesterday and one kid that everyone that was going for sure got denied so I'm always interested in knowing this kind of stuff. Its really crazy how they decide to reject or accept someone.

Why the heck did you apply to so many? I know that you can use one application for all the UC schools, but that's still 11 applications you had to write.
