New Computer Help

Hey guys! I need help with purchasing a new computer since my laptop is getting old and could no longer handle maplestory lag..

I am trying to buy a cheap computer that could still run maplestory-like games. My old Toshiba laptop is cheap (got it for less than $300) and it runs maple fine but it is old and I am getting lags when I train or in fm. It is 4 years old.

I seek help for those who knows computer well. I need help in deciding if this computer is worth it to buy. I know it is refurbished but it is not like horrible condition..

Not only will I use it to play maplestory but for school work stuff too.

Thanks!
I would like to say this clearly:
Don't buy any of the computers you posted.
Let me explain why.
Pentium 4 is the slowest processor MapleStory can run on, and trust me, I had one until last year and it WILL be laggyer than your laptop.
The Pentium D isn't good either. Even though it's dual core, it's not enough to run maplestory without any lag.

I would suggest looking for another computer. I bought a Thinkpad T61 off newegg (I'm actually using it right now as we speak), and it can play maplestory just fine. Just, when you go into towns, you need to wait like 5 seconds and it will stop lagging.
Specs on my laptop:
Core 2 Duo T7300 @ 2.0GHZ
2GB DDR2 ram (dual channel)
Intel Mobile 965 Express Chipset

If you do plan on getting a Thinkpad T61, or any LAPTOP from the ears 2006~2008, then do NOT buy it if the graphics is nvidia quadrio or w/e. Those WILL brake down.
Thank you for the information!
@dontPmeoff: Regardless.. you'll have to learn how to run maintenance sooner or later otherwise your computer will get clogged up and slow down in the future. But to get back to your original question, yes the computers you're looking at look fine. Just keep in mind the people who work at Best Buy's computer section are not meant to help you figure out specific things about a computer, they're there to sell you a computer. It's best you do your own homework, but if that's not your thing have fun! Just saying.
Thanks a ton!
@dontPmeoff: ... You should google CCleaner.. and google Disk Defragmenter.. I recommend AUSLogics DiskDefrag. Figure out how those two programs work, run them, and if you're still feeling lag after you 'cleaned' up your computer.. I'll answer your question.

OT: Yes, they're okay enough computers to get by.
I did that clean thingy on my old HP laptop and for some reason.. I destroyed some files o-o that it got worsen LOL so I do not dare to do that on this laptop since I will give it to my brother (he doesnt play maple).

I am not trying to ignore your advice but I am just scared to do cleaner thingy.. :o

If you can't understand any good advice Basil has to share, go to Best Buy and ask somebody there for help.
By the way, if you're looking into getting a refurbished system, make sure they either offer an OS disk, plus drivers and what not and a warranty of some kind, or if they don't provide an OS + drivers, ask them if there's a dedicated factory reset feature in case you need to reformat in the future.
LOOOOL i seriously did not understand anything you said.. sorry.. like I said I am not good with this stuff.. -.-

But when you looked at the site, do you think it is okay? o-o

@below me
sorry..... i just searched what it is and understand what she means. I will send them an email asking about that. But I was just wondering if someone here knows that this computer is actually capable of running games like maplestory. I looked at the description, and it looked fine (well for me). But I just want to make sure if it is really fine especially to people who knows computer stuff.

Before you replace your laptop.. are you sure it's not lagging because you haven't done any sort of maintenance on your system..? Or is it lagging because the laptop is having hardware issues.. anyway most laptops around 300 ~ 500 dollars will do just fine. By the way, if you're looking into getting a refurbished system, make sure they either offer an OS disk, plus drivers and what not and a warranty of some kind, or if they don't provide an OS + drivers, ask them if there's a dedicated factory reset feature in case you need to reformat in the future.
