Why is accuracy even a thing?
Last I checked accuracy was determined by your level and the target monster's level at a fixed % per level lower (100% Hit rate at same level).
So why am I wasting a line on my item when I could have % W.def instead....

Yeah..! Exactly..!
Accuracy is a holdover from when Maplestory was a thoughtful game with a lot of depth and variety needed to play, closer to a real RPG.
Now it's just another detail they haven't bothered to completely remove while dumbing down the game to a simple shooter.
For the longest time actually, I didn't realize it was a buff... I was all the way into 4th job when I finally realized what it was LOL
The hilarious part is that they keep adding the stat to equipment and skills even though they obviously know it doesn't have a use.

technically, Accuracy still affects our Hitrate. just that you have so much from natural stats that you never have to worry about needing more
you should be aiming for % M.def
