@fradddd:

Any major retailer will do. I know Walmart sells the mixture for like two dollars.
I saw a difference within a week but I'm not promising it'll work for you. At the very least I'm confident that it's very unlikely to irritate or do anything bad to your skin.

@ulti25: I don't have it much on my face. Where do you get calamine+zinc?

@fradddd:

Chest/back acne is hormonal. People on steroids get it all the time. My back and deltoids were on fire at one point and calamine+zinc helped immensely. I'm almost positive mine was worse than whatever you have. You could try it on your face although as you've seen with benzoyl peroxide your mileage may vary. Benzoyl peroxide is directly toxic to acne-causing bacteria so it should be effective for that cause. Perhaps you have problems keeping oil under control in your face or something.

My dermatologist recommend me Cerave for my keratosis pilaris on my arms, but I've been using it for about six months, every day, and it does nothing. And he also didn't mention my back/chest acne at all...

I hate how you'd have to wait months for "treatments" to start working, and then they don't work, so you've wasted all that time for nothing.

@ulti25 another thing that doesn't work for me...I've been using 10% benzoyl peroxide for a few months and it never really affects my acne

Like @colour suggested, I would check out https://www.reddit.com/r/skincareaddiction Everything is layed out very well and well informative. If you want, try out Dermologica since your parents get a good deal. Just use small patches for now to test how your skin reacts. Everyone's skin is different.

Benzoyl peroxide 10% works wonders and is non-prescription.

Something I never see recommended but really sealed acne away for me forever was calamine lotion + zinc. There are brands that sell both together and it's a godsend. I use it at night when I go to sleep and I just moisturize throughout the day with a non-comedogenic moisturizer.

For mild to moderate acne, a product containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide would be effective. For more severe acne (in case of scarring, boils, and large areas affected), I would recommend seeing a physician for prescription treatment.
