Why do people say marksman are squishy?

It's not only about def, it's also about damage reduction and status resistance. I believe they do have good avoid at higher levels, right? That's worth something. Now, Corsair.... that's what I call squishy.
Def and MDef are lower then other classes, and we have a low base hp but thats nothing link skills and % HP cant fix. I had 14k HP at lvl 150.
We are pretty squishy, but not NEARLY as bad as sairs. My weapon def is decent, but those magic attacks absolutely kill me in future perion </3
Also, not everyone has a full tyrants or RA equips and doing so is making an unfair assumption that this should make all archers more defended.
Archers is also supposed to be the ultimate long-ranged class and yet cannoneers shoot further than us and STILL can tank anything. I'm hoping in the revamp we will get some defense as well.
Wow, i just realized i was rambling. Long story short: we are not glass cannons, we are not indestructible either. you can get %hp or upgrade your equips with higher base def.

max def/ mag def/ avoid with some sets that add hp/ random hp % lines/ decent hb make any class a tanker .
