Only a memory
In truth, he was only a memory. He was a wonderful person you met in a dream, or a handsome hero sprung from a romance novel. He was always perfect in his imperfections.
He was tall. He stood nearly six feet, strong muscle under bronze skin. His eyes were like coffee--warm and dark. Usually they twinkled with laughter, but sometimes they hardened with sadness. They grew cold then. Those coffee eyes lost their heat--froze over--became stale. I didn't like it when they did that. It was unnatural.
