I saved enough money for a desktop

Well this is it, after 6 years of using a crappy laptop ( 7- 12 grade) I saved enough money to buy a desktop. I worked as a librarian for the whole school year ^^ if anyone cares. This is my build, with everything I wanted I'm extremely happy right now http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mn4823 I just made this thread to celebrate this small victory, feel free to comment !
Does the mechanical keyboard really make a difference in gaming? Or does it just feel nice?
Well it could because the actuation point is much earlier compared to membrane, other than that it's a preference for feel because there are so many different switches to choose from.

I'm so done with desktops now. I mean for sure, for the maximum gaming experience... but like, you only play at home? x_x I know if might not be for all the gaming needs, but lenovo workstations have not failed me when I download a new game to play.

Congrats on buying your own laptop dude!
l can't wait to buy my own desktop to work with; l've had an HP computer for 4 years now and it still works great, but with only 6 GB of RAM to work with and not the fastest processor, it's a pain to do video editing and takes a while for RAM previews in After Effects.

Does anyone know if 'gaming computers' are good for editing and such? l'm not entirely sure what makes gaming computers, gaming computers. l only know for one thing, they have lots of video memory because it needs it.

It depends what keyboard one is coming from. It's mostly preference.

I was just like you 3 years ago. I worked at my school's student store when I was 14 and worked at McDonalds when I was 16-18 and saved up to finally buy a monster rigged gaming PC. It costed about $3,500 and it was my baby. I ended up selling it at a lost for around $1800 to fix my car and to pay rent and have been using this average lenovo laptop to try and satisfy my gaming needs; it doesn't really help since I can only play League on this thing. I had to get a PS4 to try and keep up with the recent era of video games but I do indeed miss the PC Master Race community D:. Have fun with your gaming PC, CHERISH IT and don't be stupid like me and hit a tree with your car.

i've had a 2009 HP laptop for around 5 years now. it's been good to me. that's it though. just good.
i hate this thing. can't even play minecraft without it being like 12 fps. it gets the blue screen of death. i didn't even know it was real until i had it myself.
is this a "complain about your crappy computer" thread? i feel like it is. congrats on the desktop though.

My desktop is stoopid dying sometimes-unresponsive garbage,
my laptop CPU gets to 134 deg C, mobo 85 deg C according to Speccy and heats up like crap, and my other laptop does the same. They literally need a fan pointed at them so that they spew out less heat. EVEN THOUGH MAH LAPTOPS AREN'T EVEN THAT OLD. FUDGEEEEEEeeEee HP. >.< >.< </3 I sometimes think they'll blow up any second.
.. i'm gonna have to replace them all soon. Heh.

..
Congratulations on your new Desktop, dear.
