need help super urgent

so I posted this yesterday, but literally no posts were helpful, so I'll try again.

ever since this most recent patch, I've been having problems not disconnecting from the game constantly. I get on pretty easily, and after a minute or so, I disconnect, following with an error code that says, "you have been disconnected from the server due to the use of speed related hack programs." I'm obviously not hacking, I don't even know what a speed hack is. after I clear the message, I click on the play button once again, and then I'm not even able to get into the game without the message popping up AGAIN. I have to restart my laptop and try again. one of my alliance buddies said it was my firewall and that I should turn it off/disable it for the game. I tried, still not working. my laptop is a samsung icore7 notebook running on windows 8. I've almost lost all hope in the game, and am about to quit it, unless I can find some help.

thanks for reading, and please comment below on how to fix this.

I have no idea because it's Nexon logic. It could be something you'd never think would cause suspicion. So I'd test whatever programs you've had open by closing them 1 at a time and seeing if maple still disconnects. That can help you narrow down which one is causing it.

@OneLife Nah, Windows 8 is a little different. It doesn't have a compatibility tab or a "run in compatibility mode" option, that got replaced with "troubleshoot compatibility"

@Finalily Try going to the Maplestory folder on your computer. The default file path is usually C drive (or whatever letter your main drive is) > Nexon > Maplestory and in that folder you'll see gamelauncher. Right click that and choose "troubleshoot compatibility near the top.

Also a thought just occurred. You said windows 8? Not 8.1? If you don't have 8.1 you should try upgrading and see if that fixes your issues. Otherwise if that or the above steps don't work, make sure you don't have any other programs running while maple is open, as they could be tripping up black cipher

@Finalily: Uh, I haven't used windows 8 but I guess it's the same as win 7, so right click it and click properties and go to the compatability tab. Then click the box and choose windows xp. I am not sure if this will fix your problem but it's worth a shot.

I remember, windows 8 has a problem with maple that makes it think you have a speed hack
