Unlocked Cell Phones

I know what an unlocked cellphone is, but which service would be the best for one? I have been considering buying an unlocked Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500 GSM. I have never owned a service/contract phone before and currently have a Samsung t401G prepaid from Net10. With Net10, I spend around $180 yearly. Generally speaking, I enjoy sending texts opposed to calling and would like unlimited internet access. Any suggestions?

But 180 yearly? Isn't that cheap? o:
@pinoymystic - Unlocked basically means that you don't have to be loyal to any 1 service provider and you can use a SIM card from any provider.

With Net10, a $60 prepaid card allows adds 600 rollover minutes and 120 days of service. So $60 X 3 cards (360 days of service) is $180. Virgin Mobile is now offering the Samsung Intercept prepaid plan. It's $25 a month/$300 a year for 300 minutes (not sure if rollover) with unlimited text and web.
Mines even cheaper. 5$ a month just for texting lmao. Though the limit causes me to text ALOT LOT LOT LOT less. If your a text addict, get one where you have a limit and then you'll be forced to stop texting =p
@igummyjelly - Which service provider do you use?
