quotInnapropriate words in front of childrenquot

So, to clear things up, no this is not regarding swear words, it's regarding words such as stupid, idiot, or I hate you. I work tutoring for kids from ages of 6-12, and I'm 15, and in some cases I make simple jokes using these words with my coworkers, and I don't use any expressions showing that's what I truly feel, however this is the third time I've done it, and I have to stop, and I will. But this has sparked my curiosity, in your opinion, do you guys believe that these words have such a negative impact on children? I still feel these are the things that are the least to be concerned with. In everyday life I've seen many instances where adults are mindlessly arguing or swearing in front of children. Kids are exposed to violence through things like tv video games and the internet. I remember when I was in elementary school, and one of us would say a "bad" word, and we would be lectured, none of us really cared, the only ones who do seem to care are kids who are raised in "pure innocence", and from what I've experienced, those kids end up being bullied in some way. This is solely my opinion.

you get desensitized after a while. i had the awkward transition of swearing in front of classmates without sounding weird pretty much from gr. 8 - gr. 11.
