What should I do about this cut? Pic included

Hey guys, i cut my hand doing bear crawls today in football and a layer of my palm came off; it was dangling there and when i got home i had to cut off the dead skin. Now there is a patch of raw skin on my palm, here is a pic i just took of it http://oi50.tinypic.com/rlxac5.jpg
in real life the raw part is actually a lot more red/pink looking, the picture just makes it look a lil miscolored. and on one side, there is still some dead skin that i didn't cut off and i just kind of pressed it back, im too pu$$y to try to cut it off. you can kind of see it

what should i do? when i got home i washed it with a lil water, put some antiobiotic cream thing on it (ow) and slapped on a bandage, i just took the bandage off after taking a shower and took the pic

Disinfect the area. The exposed area of skin will be prone to infection. There are over the counter adhesives that basically create a layer of temporary skin, but I don't know how and if they're safe enough for an area that big..

Just put a bandaid over it if it's bothering you too much.

And I hate you, because you got me all excited over a "cut" and I thought it would be some really nice gore.

Stop playing dat der poverty football, get yourself a pair of gloves. Every position besides the QB has a reason to wear a pair, and judging from your size, your position would.
Clean it good, wrap it up, pick up gloves, proceed with life.

just wrap it in some gauze or use a band aid and if that still makes it hurt wear some football gloves

It's best you let this heal naturally. I'd suggest wrapping that in those thick bandages to cover for football other wise that raw skin may get infected and you'll in a LOT more pain.
well, the thing is i have football again tomorrow and i'd rather not have the cut get infected or anything not to mention the fact that it would sting like hell every time my palm rubbed against something. i know it wont heal magically overnight, but is there anything i can do to make it heal quicker?
it won't heal quickly; I'll tell you that. Just get a large bandaid and slap it on there until it heals with some antibiotics. Make sure you bring some extra bandaids to practice too for extra precaution.

If you're going to be doing more stuff at practice where your hands will get dirty, I'd try putting a square bandage on it.
Just to keep it safe.
