just finished watching angel beats

loved almost every second of it. it was really sad to see how bad each character's life was... nearly bawled at the ending.

now, on a slightly different note: any recommendations for anime? lately i've been watching quite a bit of drama anime (air, clannad, kanon, ano hi mita hana no namae o bokutachi wa mada shiranai, angel beats, etc.).

@Demonlord: No, the author of Shana hasn't created any other works besides it. My hopes aren't too high for season 3, though. If it's JC staff adapting it, prepare for a fricking s*storm.

@CowZone: @SnowboardXX: already watched toradora about... 3 years ago? i know i loved it then.
i know angel beats was rushed, but i enjoyed it for what it was.
@nooob: i dont plan on watching the anime for TWGOK. im reading the manga though. not sure about sayonara zetsubou sensei (i didn't like the manga much)
as for angel beats, as people said, it's rushed and has some plot holes, but overall it was pretty enjoyable.
@yumtoast154: thanks for the recommendations. i won't watch school days though. oh, and i already watched 5 centimeters per second.
@Tabuza: i plan to watch that once i finish watching some of the other anime that i've set aside...
*Long Rant*
Short version:Hidan no Aria is no where similar, mainly because I think the anime strayed way to off topic on plot and went straight to fan service. While as Angel Beats.. kind of stayed on plot, but could of been better if KEY didn't rush it. Oh, both series are similar in one way, they both tried to hard in certain aspects. Similar in genre and context? No. Similar in style, kind of I guess since it's revolving around a non epic, yet some how epic main character.
This.

@CowZone: Hidan no Aria is one of the worst anime ever adapted by JC Staff. I have so much rage for that single anime that it alone could fuel a fricking thousand suns. The only thing remotely similar to both animes is that there are guns. That's all. If Japan actually buys the BDs for Aria and it gets a second season, I will bust a nut.

Also, Angel Beats! is the worst of Key's animations since it was rushed and there are several plot holes never filled in. Not sure how OP enjoyed it completely. After the season ended, I kept on thinking "how the hell did Kanade get Otonashi's heart is she was in the purgatory before he was? Is it similar to Clannad where time flowed backwards for a wish? What the hell happened?" It would be so much better if the anime was 24 episodes, though.

OT: Watch Mawaru Penguin Drum. It's a summer anime that just started airing last week. If it matters, it's animated by A-1 Productions which is the same staff that animated AnoHana.

Also watch ef: a tale of memories/melodies, H20:~Footprints in the Sand~, D.C.~Da Capo~, Bakemonotegari, School Days[?], Grave of the Fireflies (movie), and 5 Centimeters per Second (movie). You won't regret it. Fricking tears everywhere.

loved the ending but everyone knows that angel beats was severely rushed, barely any character development, nevertheless it wasn't too bad

watch toradora. definitely.

The ending sucked. Go watch True Tears, h20, Sola, Ef, Shigofumi, or Jigoku Shoujo.

You want drama and sadness? Watch Skins (UK). There is a lot of alcohol, weed, sex, MDMA, boobies, and too much drama. The storytelling is, in a word, magnificent. You will suffer through the deepest valleys of human emotion, I promise.
