Okay this is dumb
One of my buddy heard this from his uncle who is a cop. His uncle said that if we drank at a place and then drive home drunk and into an accident. Then the people we hit can sue the place that serve us beer. What the hell. Can they even do that?

Yep that can happen and has happened. Even stores can get sued if they sell to intoxicated people and something happens. It always amuses me that places have to take responsibility for grown ass adults instead of the adult knowing right from wrong when it comes to drinking. Seriously its not like we've been taught about this stuff since we were children.
Depends on where you live. In some US states it is illegal to sell alcohol to someone who's already intoxicated
