It's down for me as well.
I don't know what's going on and I'm wondering the same things you are.

edit: Ok it's back for some reason, I'm logging in right now!
edit 2: Didn't get in, it now says servers are currently busy. [url=http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4344601]here[/url] is where it says that they're having connection issues.
