Luminous

How is Luminous Survivability and pot usage?

I am a lvl 204 Battle Mage, and now I am considering switching to a Luminous. Since 204 is enough for me

I already have lvl 142 Luminous and I enjoy it very much

But I got a question about Luminous' survivability and pot usage....:/ Since I really hate using a lot of potion (Never had to pay attention to my HP as Battle Mage unless I am Bossing)

How is Luminous' Survivability and pot usage?

Thank you in advance

p.s
What would be good hyper kill build for Luminous?

And any general tips for Luminous?

@HelpHan As far as pot usage, I have a potion pot with max capacity (9mil hp/mp) and I keep it set to my pets auto hp/mp. I have over 95% uptime of my 20% damage buff from lunar tide. If you can't afford the nx, buy honsters and mana bulls and try to manage your lunar tide yourself. It can be a little taxing, but with practice, it can be done (I have done it myself, I only have pumpkin pets for the 3 buffs they give so i buy auto hp/mp). For my hypers, I have INT, LUK, HP, MP, Crit, W.Def. I noticed 1 poster said max all 3 ender and reflection skills which is not possible. You should max all 3 reflections and ender 20% damage, and ender +1 target.

@Royru: Oh, so I guess you'd need to keep unlocking it and finding it then xD I thought it would be the Hero considering %Str is the most expensive thing in the market but it's true that %LUK comes right after so... and they have Kataras and a whole lot more to take care of I guess. xD

@Royru: Oh haha, but dang that's pretty cool! I didn't know you would get more exp at link 9 if you can kill fast enough. Do you have to unlock it? And how? Dang, was funding your Hero much harder than your DB though?

Wow that's pretty cool makes me want to try a Dual Blader out sometime.. haha Nice though!

@Royru: Yeah haha that'd be cool haha. Oh you haven't noticed huh? DB's already have 90% avoid. They nerfed it already O: but it's still pretty high and considering you never noticed it must be good you're surviving! xD Yeah but they just lack the defenses. All they have is the avoid pretty much lol. Anyways why are you in link 9 anyways? O: Wow did you main a Hero? I'm considering making one I already made it but aw that's a shame you don't like what they did with it D: But how was your Hero, was it hard to train?

Yeah that's true the whole funding issue. But you've definitely proved your worth sticking to it so long haha. Well I guess it all comes down to liking your class a lot to have the motivation to fund it!

@Royru: Ah yeah, thanks for clearing that up! Yeah haha, their burst and that skill is beyond believable it's so crazy! One of the best hypers in the game seriously. That's good though you picked a class you really enjoy playing! Me on the other hand, well I have trouble sticking to one. haha I jump all over the place... and they are definitely a good class though. Yeah. You're definitely right about Hilla being a good tester. I wish you luck though with your run and testing.

@Royru: Haha yeah, don't thank me! Glad to know I helped you understand! xD Though they might not have the best DPM or whatnot they can definitely ignore the elemental resistances on those bosses like Hilla, CRA, Magnus(if he has any though I'm not sure) I think gollux does as well.. a few others I probably forgot. But yeah, I wish you luck!

ALSO, I forgot to mention. Cygnus knights have 50% ignore elements (while the mages and paladins have 100%) So they'd be hitting, what is that, like 75% of their damage that they'd usually do?

Mercedes have 25% as well.

So pretty much All mages except Battle Mages. Paladins and Cygnus Knights and Mercedes with Mercedes and Cygnus Knights being the lowest. Making these classes pretty good at late game bosses considering you're well funded enough too.

@Royru: Exactly. With Luminous or any Mage or Paladin you will be able to hit your full damage potential on them and ignore that. I believe that's how it works. Any other classes aside from a Mage or Paladin will do half of what they usually do.

@Royru: Yeah I believe it's that. It's a skill that lets them ignore late game bosses elemental defenses making all classes but general Mages (except BaM) and Paladins hit their full 100% damage they'd usually do to them. Other classes will end up hitting half as much on bosses.

Well Luminous have a big Magic Defense system. Usually all our damage taken goes to mp. Luminous have low hp but high mp. You will need mostly mp pots but i recommend you go to NLC and just buy a ton of ginger ale. You would be pretty set as long as you dont forget to use your magic defense buff every once and a while.

Pretty good, magic guard and that good HIGH MP really helps. Not to mention, magic guard is passive.
They have that 20% ignore damage on chance, along with a huge amount of MP with a passive Magic Guard. Just stock up on elixirs and possibly power elixirs (or buy a potion pot). Not to mention, they DO have a healing spell, that will help if your hp gets low. I currently have around 7.3k Hp at level 161, no link skills. Oh and don't forget Shadow Shell, it protects you up to 3 times from any abnormal status (great if you know when a boss is going to use something against you). During equilibrium you can ignore DR but will only hit 1's, I have yet to test this theory, let me go do Hilla really quick and let you know. Their teleport is useful to reach high Y Axis areas in a blink.

If you like to boss, I'd suggest getting Hypers for: Ender Reinforce, Apocalypse Reinforce & Recharge, Reflection Reinforce, Reflection Range up, and Reflection Spread. Rest is up to you. I personally would put the last point on Ender Range, if you boss a ton.

I would highly suggest you max out reflection first if you want to train fast, along with mastery and dark crescendo. Max out Ender when you're near 160, for a good bossing level range. Or sooner if you prefer to boss now.

TL&DR : They definitely have a high survival rate, due to high hp, passive MG, ignore damage, Abnormal resist skill, High MP, their teleport can reach high Y axis, healing spell, and DR doesn't affect you during Equilibrium. (you will hit 1's)

As for hypers, just go for the damage, range, and avoid the +mobs for ender, its not needed for most bosses. Its all preference, I'm sure others will say otherwise. Its just how I play my lumi, its my 2nd most played character
Great post! Just wondering do Lumis have elemental reset?

I can answer the survivability and that's about it.

Survivability is very high. Mages come with Magic Guard that block 85% of damage and switch it to MP. Luminous' is a passive. As long as you've got a good chunk of MP (Which they do, starting first job they get a skill that gives +30% MP), you're a survivor.
