New Players Needed

Recently, the people who play maplestory have started to decrease. It use to be overpopulated to the point that you had to try several times to get into a Channel in Scania or Bera. But now, i cant even remember when last time, a server in maplestory was overpopulated.
People are quitting Maplestory after playing for 2 days. Recently i tried getting my friends to start playing and out of the 5 ive gotten to start playing, only 1 has actually continued playing.
So my question is; how can i or Nexon get my friends into Maplestory or maybe more and more people into maplestory?
I think its a matter of getting to uderstand how to play and set up. Also i think when they see how hard it is to get mesos and high damage (like those people who spend money on the game), they will quit after seeing how hard it is.
Thoughts?

P.S: Not a hate thread. I still enjoy maplestory even though, im not that funded, and plus i have never spent money on this game and the only times i get miracle cubes, are during the events

I remember Pre BB the highest level I ever got to was 50ish, and that was after years of casually doing PQs and just training with friends or random players that happened to pass by. My friend got to level 85 and I used to think "Wow, there's no way I'll ever get to that level." Nowadays I can easily get to level 100 in a day and PQs are pretty much dead since everyone can solo train easily.

Because maple is so complex now. Right after you make a new character, you get smacked in the face with a 500 page essay by Tot that as a new player, youd need to read to understand how the game even works.

Usually when I try out a different MMORPG and they do this, i just quit immediately.

It isn't challenging anymore. I play GMS for two weeks now and have two level 100+ characters even without grinding... It took me a year to get my assasin to level 59 back in the days and I was hardly bored. It was so much more challenging and you met so much more nice people because people weren't rushing things.

as others have said this game used to be about the social aspects and teamwork...remember when you needed two full partys to take on zak? a full exp to consider fighting pink bean? however theres always the people who want to "solo" thus creating a gap between players, nexon saw this and amplified it several times over with the new updates, cs items etc its a shame really used to love monster carnival with friends untill that we win you win crap started
When I started Maple a while back it was more of a social game and that's what made me want to continue. It didn't even take 2 minutes before I was having fun and talking to people at hhg1. Every class used to have a specific role which encouraged people to be social. Nowadays most classes have all they need, not as much people pq and you get an exp penalty at different levels so it's harder to train with friends. Since they took out things like hhg1 and decreased the need for parties, I think that they need to add something else that you can get together with people and have fun. Maybe buff or add new fun pqs that are actually worth it to try and get that going.
I also kinda agree with this. I remember those good old days

pay 2 play buddy, people who quit just have the common sense not to spend money into the game

Tell me about it...usually I'm to embarrassed to tell any of my irl friends, but then when the game just felt too boring even with online friends that I decided meh w/e and just went with it, asked few friends to give it a try and most just went like -Lol- and the few who tried quit in a day D:

We get massive surges of new players when we get a new class/big update, but the interim periods are sooo dead
