Any tips on soloing Normal Gollux? Also help on soul service

Hi, I have about 110k range normally buffed with HB neb thrown in and about 135k range with Ephinea's buff and about 110% boss damage and 60%PDR I think. I can do easy gollux and I want to try doing normal gollux. Problem is the mobs at the bottom of Gollux's head kill me when they reach the centre when I'm fighting the eyes etc and I can't kill them in one hit... Anyone have tips on how to defeat the mobs at the bottom? Maybe using Nether Shield? I haven't maxed out my nether shield yet but I find they're quite useful at the abdomen. Also in the time I drop to the bottom fire seduce(?) is cast on me and after a few seconds kills me, is there any way to avoid this?

On another note, I have a Hearty Hilla Soul (that I made today using the 10 soul shards because I didn't know there would then be a month's time limit) Anyone know whether its possible to sell service for it? Or should I wait to see if Marvel comes and then equip it on a fafnir weapon and try and sell it for higher once Marvel is over? If I do it that way, which classes benefit the most from Hilla's soul summon/buff/attack? (I'm not exactly sure what Hilla's soul does.)

Thanks in advance.

What I do is I continuously attack but you must use nether shield and nether slice in unison to keep them active and in that order, otherwise the delay will slightly drop your dps.
Stay in the middle where the jaw is to easily dodge any incoming attacks by side-stepping to the other side.
From my knowledge, you would only need to use overload release when your hp is down less than 80%....which is where you start losing a lot of dps and lose more than if you reset your exceed count.
on the eyes, i use the portal that goes from the jaw to the upper left platform. It makes it easier to dodge the hands and the fire attack. You MUST do this because us DA's don't have enough range to hit gollux without getting hit by the hand and we won't be able to dodge in time.
You want to step out from under the jaw sometimes to kill the monsters coming to the center.
Other than that, I believe that's pretty much it......

InQbus: Thanks very much for replying, especially about the seduce thingy I'll try that out when I go to defeat him. As for the nether shield, yeah I should have maxed it out long ago, just reluctant to pay the 10mill mesos for it

cris1000: Thanks for replying too, and how do you know when gollux is going to do the 1HKO attack? Do you need to be at the edge of the platform to avoid it?

PlayThatMelody:Thanks for replying and bat swarm does seem a bit too slow to use. Is DA's shield attack any use? I sometimes use it at monster park to herd the monsters together. And which side of gollux is safe from the arm attack, does it depend on which shoulder you kill?

On the eyes phase, stay out of range in order to avoid the bomb curse. Nether Shield is extremely important in keeping the mobs at bay but you'll also have to drop down occasionally and kill the mobs that are on your safe side (spend only a split second or two down there and get back up). Another option is to use Bat Swarm but trying to kill with that skill takes a little extra time because of its very low damage.

If you are facing normal gollux, one side should be safe of the arm attack. When you get to the eye stage, jump to the top and go to the edge of the platform so you don't get hit. If you need to clear the mobs at the bottom, wait till gollux uses the red eye seduce, and the 1hko shout consecutively (I would say 5 seconds or less between those attacks) before jumping down and clearing the mobs.

I used to do Normal Gollux runs daily. Some ways to take care of the mobs: NETHER SHIELD, you should've maxed this skill before doing any bosses, it is the most helpful skill I think I have next to Life Absorb. I've sometimes casted a Bat Swarm if I'm desperate, mainly because it makes me lose dpm, but I can kill norm with only 1 or 2 that slip by me without it. IF neither of these two are working I just fly over and kill them, then fly back before he casts another breath.

Dropping to the bottom gives you the seduce-like reversed debuff, which he will only cast if his jaw is defeated and you are close to him. As you did with the jaw to stay out of range of the breath, stay as far away from the eyes as possible. >>Some things that help is killing the correct shoulder (Sorry I forgot which one it is, I haven't fought him in so long!) You should be able to stay on the right side of the map and not get attacked by the arm. This helps you fight the eyes because there's a small, hidden yellow portal that will teleport you from the upper platform on the right, directly to the middle of Gollux on the bottom floor. If you're suspicious that the mobs are getting close, take the portal, kill any you see, and quickly jump back through to avoid getting the seduce-debuff-thingy.

Can't help you with the soul thing, but I hope I helped with Gollux!
