It really depends. I often find that I can get away with most of my sketchbook drawings with a camera, and just take a picture of it. . . kinda lame, but when I need details, I will use a scanner. A scanner is a luxury, but if you already have a high megapixel camera, IMO a scanner isn't completely necessary.
Well just have to see what I get for Christmas

@Horizon: I certainly do my good friend. Epson is a rather dependable name in printing and the likes. I myself have a printer/copier/scanner of the Epson make, and it has served me well.

OT: It depends, a lot of printers come with scanners, as well as a faxing function. If you happen to need a new printer, or want to have a fax machine, perhaps you would consider that. But if you just want the scanner alone, I wouldn't do it. From a quick search on Google, I found a scanner is usually $150. So unless you can find one for under $70, I suppose it would be fun to have. Good luck.
Yes, I found an Epson scanner for $72 at the BestBuy website, do you think that's decent?

the answer seems obvious
The reason Im asking is because I don't know if the prices are worth it or not
Most printers nowadays are like 9000-in-1, so I'd say get some HP printer with a scanner.
