Pokemon Sun n Moon Shiny starter SR

Day 15 of soft resetting for my shiny Rowlet. Still no luck. What about everyone else? I have to be reaching the 2000-3000 count or higher of SRs. I stopped counting.

Poll: How many SR's did it take you to get your shiny starter?
~EDIT~ (Since I can't get polls to work for some reason, let me know in your comments below.)
*1-50
*50-200
*200-500
*500+

I have never SR'd for shinies honestly. I usually masuda or find full chance in the wild.

Good luck with your Shiny Starter soft-resetting! I haven't successfully done that stuff in years.

I've only successfully soft-resetted for Shiny Starters back in LeafGreen and Ruby, getting all three of the Starters in both games to shine (was lucky enough to get Mudkip to appear both as a Shiny and a Female). If I remember correctly, getting Bulbasaur to shine gave me the most difficulty.
I tried again years later in White and gave up after trying for about a month. My sibling actually went on for much longer in Black before eventually quitting.
Didn't bother in Y, although my sibling made a brief attempt in X before giving up.
I considered trying in Sun for a Shiny Litten, but quickly decided not to and instead satisfied myself with at least getting a "regular" one with favourable stats.

In my opinion, it's best to breed for Shiny Starters instead (make sure you get the Shiny Charm first, though).
Before putting Y on hold so I could focus more on Sun, I'd managed to hatch three Shiny Starters: Chespin, Totodile, and Oshawott.
The first Chespin egg I hatched was a Shiny, but unfortunately didn't inherit its Hidden Ability and was lacking some favourable egg moves, so I'll likely never use it. Totodile took longer to hatch as a Shiny, but much like my previously mentioned Mudkip back in Ruby, was lucky enough to also hatch as a Female and as a added bonus inherited both perfect IVs and its Hidden Ability (the only other Shiny with perfect IVs I've managed to hatch is an Electrode). Oshawott hatched as a Shiny within the first five eggs I hatched and would've been perfect like my Totodile, but it had imperfect IVs in an important stat, so I'll have to fix it up with a Bottle Cap once it eventually gets leveled-up enough and sent over to Sun.

Didn't soft reset since it's not worth it to me. Will eventually breed for them soon. Recent shiny hunt resulted in a shiny Mareanie after only a box and a half of eggs. Ended up being penta-perfect and lacking in sp. def. but since Toxapex is bulky already it's still pretty usable. Currently going for a Dhelmise.

Well, when oras came out I bought the game day 1.
Started my game and boom shiny 1st go.
My 1st and last.

I never really soft reset for a shiny though. It's not worth the hassle imo
