alternatives to dps for nubs

So a lot of people don't want to spend a bunch on nx, or suck at merching or whatever, myself included. So I was wondering what class would be best for us to play to be useful, and I don't mean just hsing/kishin. What class would be most useful to contribute in stuff like cra/mag/gollux/empress runs. Like is there a class you wish you had with you when running these? Maybe a class with the best bind, or one with really useful buffs?

i read this as "you're making an assumption dumbass" because typically that's how it sounds when spoken irl, sorry for the mix up

@ihatecatsongs:
uuuuuuhm I don't see where I am being a jerk, but if you somehow managed to interpret it that way then I am sorry because I was just trying to clarify what seemed to be your misunderstanding.
In the same way, that's how it's easiest for me to learn when I am studying. When I ask questions i usually do so by mentioning something like
"What about this, is it like this and so on?", and if it's wrong the professor says "no, that's wrong, this is how it is".
It's to clarify, and not to make an ass out of you.
I know a lot of people still think bishops are only HS machines, and I still need to explain that we are not anymore, so sorry if it came out aggressively.
When I wrote what I did I didn't have a menacing intention in my head at all.

[quote=MSLovelyIdiot]The class with the most utility is bishop, and that includes more than just HSing.
For Empress and many other bosses with a death count, like Magnus and Chaos Root Abyss, the skill Heaven's Door (bishop hyper skill) is very valuable because it prevents you and all your party members from dying once (excluding dying from Damage Reflect) with a 3 minute cooldown.
We can also increase damage, hp, mp, boss damage, drop rate and resistance to statuses.
Additionally we have Holy Magic Shell which shields all nearby party members, and protect them from damage for a short period of time.
The shell can save many lifes because some bosses, including empress, have a cooldown on potions.
And lastly, let's not forget res, dispell and heal (be careful of zombify).

I never said anything about bishops, I've also never played one, however I mentioned hs/kishin because a lot of the time I have seen people say if you're nub make a phantom/kanna/bishop so you can hs/kishin. I asked a question to learn. When a kid sits in algebra and asks how algebra is useful in real life the teacher doesn't slam them, they explain it's uses. You make good points but you don't have to be a jerk.

If you have no intent on doing a lot of damage, jobs like bishop and kanna are pretty valuable even if they're unfunded. People already explained why bishop was good, so I don't really need to cover that. For Kannas, %boss barrier increases boss damage by 45%, and their 3rd job barrier increases status resist by 30% and reduces damage taken by 30%. They are unique in that they have 2 binds, which cripple bosses like magnus and cygnus for up to 40 seconds if done correctly. If kanna is semi-funded, kishin can be used to kill mobs at the bottom of gollux.

In other versions, Kanna's haku buff's are party skills, which can increase damage, improve stance%, and improve ignore defense of party members as well.

They actually suck at Chaos Pierre.
Missiles keep healing the opposite Pierre

Luminous or any adventurer mage. Their elemental ignore is basically a 2x multiplier when comparing to the rest of us.

Unless you have really good friends, no ones gonna take you to cra if you cant contribute in terms of dmg.

@ihatecatsongs: i'd go with bishop as well in this one.. now a days most people playing are all striving to get the best damage, capping or just focusing on lines and numbers.. but when we're in a party or attempting to party up for a boss.. the same exact words we type are R>Bishop or R>HS..
