Phil Seymour Hoffman died

RIP. He died from apparent OD in his apartment.

This leads me to wonder; why there are so many actor deaths relating to OD. Is it the stress or what?

EDIT: Now this is interesting, apparently 2 days before he died (31st of Jan) there was a death hoax about him.

EDITEDIT: turns out that death hoax... was actually a hoax. jesus.

@opmeTK: Could be the truth, but we don't know. Could be the stress, could be anything.

@xtripled: Eh. It just seems that an awfully large amount of celebrity deaths are caused through OD, so i thought there was some kind of correlation.

@ishottedsnow2: well like i said, the connections are always there so if one night he randomly decided to try it with some friends then well, that's a wrap. Although some people seek these drugs for the reasons already mentioned in this thread.
@ishottedsnow2 Could be any number of things. Grueling schedules, immense pressure to perform/create, being judged by millions of people, etc.
Mmm. That could be the reason, and what you said was true. He was sober for 25 years before relapsing.

@Errr: for hunger games? :o
i'm assuming it's because they have so many connections that getting these drugs is easy for them. Also it doesn't take that many times to get hooked, especially with hard drugs.
It's not about like how he got the drugs, but what made him do it in the first place. It seems to be common among actors/actresses.

In this case it sounds like he was a recovered addict of many years, but fell off after using prescription medication.
