Whats a sku number?

i am trying to sell something on amazon and it says "Your item's SKU".

In the case of an Amazon sale, it means the internal number they've assigned to your item. That's how they keep track of it in their system.
You'd use your SKU number to look up the item or find the record of it.

The other explanations of what a SKU number is ("Stock-keeping Unit),describe the more generic application in retail sales.
Stores use the SKU number of an item to keep track of inventory, sales and ordering.

its a 6-digit number that identifies the product you are trying to sell.
