Returning After Long Break. Help?
I played Maple for a while, and I quit about 2 years ago, I quit because the game got pretty boring, and I just got too busy and didn't have time for it, but recently I've been finding a lot more free time on my hands (no class lol) and I'm home a lot more than usual. I've been popping into Basil & checking in on the website every now and then so I kind of know whats been going on, but can anyone give me a run down of how its changed? What classes were helped/hurt by the recent revamp? I've also heard rumors of a declining population. How bad is it? Is Bera still densely populated (I like populated servers and thats where I am atm )?
Thinking of starting a new character, at least until I get the hang of things... any recommendations? Is the new class, Shade, any good/fun? Would also like to know whats generally accepted as the best bossing class atm. Is there an updated DPM/DPS chart? I've also heard all the target levels for different areas were changed, so an updated training guide or any recommendations? (Specifically for 17X~18X+)
Also, if anyone needs a buddy in Bera, seems all my friends & guildies deleted me, quit, or have new characters

Well looking at your list of characters id say that luminous might be a class that interests you :O Its a mage with quite a high mobbing capabilities
Thank you! I'm at work right now but I'll definitely checkout those links when I get home. Good to hear the population is not as bad as I've been thinking it would be.
I got on today for about an hour, but I just played around with a new Shade and did some tutorial quests. Will go on one of my old mains to check everything out later. Some of the UIs are really nice and it seems like they've added a ot of helpful updates.
Also, any class recommendations? I have a pretty decent amount of funding and equips on my account, assuming all my gear hasnt gotten conpletely outdated

Edit: The population is not as dead as people say on here. Basil has had a death wish for Maplestory since even before Big Bang. I would say at peak times (afternoon and evening Basil-time wise) the bigger servers such as Scania and Windia are packed. Smaller servers have a decent amount of people, although they aren't as full as they used to be. (I think a lot of people moved from them to the bigger servers if you want my opinion. Of course a lot probably did quit.
The rest of this thread is going to be filled with self-loathing Basilers telling you to not come back.
