Is my Battle Mage Strong?

I ask this question after doing the Boss Arena, this person I was against was able to kill my monster, when it was my turn I couldn't do much damage at all. Then today I try to do the Tower of Oz quest but failed completely. I believe that I made my character pretty good and my fighting strategy is great. But what is it that i did wrong?

Boss Arena probably isn't a good way to measure strength, it's so broken
Your luk is really high o.o It should be 4, so see if you can reset that.
And you need to max your skills too.
