New F/p Questions

Alright so i just started a f/p since the only mage i ever played was a lumi and plus i usually only ever have played thieves and warriors. So i have a few questions regarding the class.
1. I use to watch f/p videos and i forgot who said this but they don't use Ignite at all because it messes them up when bossing. So has this changed and could someone give me a skill build for the rest of the job advancements so i dont mess up my character in the future when bossing.
2. So what kind of range, pdr, boss and stuff would i need for some of the end game bosses such as Hard and Hell gollux and Hard magnus. (Not exact numbers just a guess for those that can do these bosses easily)
3. Is there anything specific i would need to know in the future about f/p or mages in general because i dont play ,mages and i dont want to mess this character up.

1'ignite lags ppl but its a good dmg boost. only annoying in chaos pierre
2.skill build r like reset calss, max all passive and things required for next job
3.same as other calss in terms of boss/pdr requriement,aroudn 8k int to be able to solo all boss except cvellum.14k+to cap wiht pralyze

Haha, yeah. I guess when it comes down to it you just need to know your own rotation and how you can make it fit with each boss. I guess I didn't want to come off like I'm an expert since I'm fairly new to F/P myself.

you did just fine. people act like there are serious intricacies to f/ps (or any maple class for that matter i guess tbh), but it's literally so simple.

F/P is probably the funnest mage I have played. It's very strategic and has a good rotation of spells that make it a little more interesting than other mages.

Depending on how far into the job you are, you'll notice that you get extra damage for stacking your DoTs on enemies. The sources of DoT available to you are as follows:
Poison Orb (the second job poison)
Poison Mist
Teleport Mastery (you have to turn this skill on, just keep that in mind because I forgot to for the about 50 levels after I got it)
Viral Slime
Flame Haze
Paralyze
(Flame gear, if you want to use the quests)

The Extra damage from having DoTs just counts how many enemies have DoTs and how many they have, up to 5. So 1 enemy having 5 is really the same as 5 enemies with 1, in terms of damage increase. A good rotation (if I recall correctly) is Flame Haze > Teleport > Orb > Paralyze > Erupt. Flame haze applies it's own DoT, as well as the DoT from mist as it spawns a mist cloud. You want to stack your DoTs on the enemy to enhance Eruption Damage to about 1k% per hit, and then erupt for maximum damage.

@Mornijii Has the right idea when it comes to skill builds - your DoTs are you most valuable attacking skills in 2nd and 3rd job, as you won't be using either fire spell after 4th job comes around.

The most important Hyper Skill you can get is at level 155 - it removes the cooldown from Myst Eruption, making the rotation I outlined possible. It's what makes F/P as good as it is.

One last thing I think is worth mentioning is that the class doesn't get super fun until later in 3rd job, when you can start covering maps with Poison for extended periods of time thanks to the 40sec duration of Poison Mist at max level, and then Mist eruption at 4th job.

I have no idea about ranges etc to solo endgame bosses.

Also they're getting nerfed.

1. why do people even need skill builds? stop sucking at this baby's game yall.

Skill build:
first job: max everything;; do what you like it's over in like four minutes, five if you suck.
second job: don't max Flame Orb (leave at 19, I think);; passives -> buffs -> attacks (On Ignite: it should be a toggle skill now. Don't toggle it on bosses with DR.)
third job: don't max explosion (leave at 14, I think);; passive -> buffs -> attacks
fourth job: passives -> buffs -> attacks;;;
