Making an I/l Mage?

Alright so for a while since I became a non-scrub, I've been thinking about making a Mage. Now I've seen videos and each of the 3 explorer mages and Ice/Lightning Mage really caught my attention. But now I don't know anything really about them. So to all the people that have played I/L Mage and have done most bosses in the game and have hypers, what are some stuff that make it fun for you to play? Also what really stands out from different classes like a certain abilities that is one of the best in the game if the class has one. Thanks for your time.

I actually disliked it that I need to cast Frozen Orb once in a while, especially when it has a short cooldown, which needs constant attention on your quickslot bar. And the fact that thunderstorm's usefulness is very limited since it'll disappear if you move too far away and it moves WAY TOO SLOW. Plus the fact that his damage isn't that great either.
To be honest, the blueness of the skills is what I like only, really.

I/L can slow boss, which works like a charm in mobile bosses like Magnus or Pierre. It has the longest bind (?) which comes with invincibility as well, which make it a good supporting binder.

I/L is like jack of all trades, he has some of this and that, but don't really excel on any field of it.
What I experienced anyway.
I have mained and I/L since 06 and agree with all of this. Ifrit needs to be stronger, thunderstorm is basically useless. Blizzard doesn't really help much with such a long cooldown. I/L is pretty good-decent at most everything with no real weak points, however no overwhelming strong points either.

The color theme of the skills though <3

As the first comment said, Frozen Orb is annoying af. Not fun at all to use.

Apart from that, Chain Lightning is awesome

I actually enjoy having to use Frozen Orb once in a while; you're not just spamming CL, and I absolutely love the skill animations.
Also as mentioned above, the longer bind is nice, although it's only about 2 seconds longer than other binds, haha.
