Purchasing a Keyboard instrument

Hi.
Going to be buying a Keyboard soon and I'm wondering how I should go about doing so. Of course I'm not wanting to pay more than I should have to and I'm not sure what the differences between each one is with the price increase. Friend tells me Yamaha is a good brand but should I be going for a 61 key, 76? I have no idea. Looking to spend around $200-350 AUD, will that get me something that will get the job done?

Help plis.

If you're just going to play for fun at home, 61 keys would be your better choice but more keys doesn't hurt.
The only time you'll be going over 61 notes is when you play music that's meant for a piano.
You know, like all that classical stuff and what not. They'll go between 1-88 keys (or something like that)
and pianos usually have about 88 keys minimum.
There will be those rare times where you'll be going over 61 keys in keyboard jazzy stuff or whatever but
those are only rare. 61 keys should get the job done if it's just a hobby thing.
okaythen...
,thanks a lot for the help!
Yamaha is good but a lot more pricey compared to the others.
Go for the cheaper brands if Yamaha keyboards exceed your budget.
I'd go for the 76 key but there are only rare instances where you'll be playing notes outside of 61
assuming you're NOT going to play music suited for the piano.
I don't know keyboard prices so I can't help you there, sorry.
A lot of this stuff also depends on what you plan to do with it.
Are you going to just use it for fun or play in a band or something?
I'm not going to be playing any serious things, not in a band, just a hobby for home. What sort of instances will I be playing outside of 61 notes?
