Thunder Breaker Combo Guide

Hi, Thunder Breakers are not too common among the other classes and I know for the very few that do play, always want to know which combo attacks they should use. Well here's a few you can use during your boss runs.

**Lightning Punch + Annihilate**

This combo here is best for 1 vs 1, where the boss is agile and dodging is a must. For example, Chaos Root Abyss, Magnus and the jaw of Gollux. It provides the best dps, keeps our Pdr% boost and allows us to react quicker to oncoming attacks.

**Annihilate + Thunderbolt**

Another great combo attack for bossing. Although slower than the first mentioned above, it has great dpm taking chunks of the bosses health, while providing excellent mob control. I recommend using this on slow moving or stationary enemies. Nevertheless still a good 1 vs 1 or 1 vs 8.

**Flash + Annihilate**

I don't know much about this one. I've tried but it doesn't seem to work out like others suggest in comments.

**Thunderbolt + Typhoon**

Our fastest mobbing combo. Superb for training and is highly recommended for bosses with multiple segments. Although we loose out on the 35% damage boost and pdr% for stacked lightning charge, it stills hit hard.

**Shark Sweep + Lightning Punch**

Not used as a bossing combo but rather the quickest way to get your x5 stacked lightning charges. Great to use on single targets that can't be OHKO'd.

**Ascension + Thunder**

Not used as a bossing combo as well. Quick way to get across a flat map while getting your lightning charges. Honestly, its a lot faster than Elemental Shift.

These are just a few of the combos used as a TB. I really hope this helps. Thanks
Very helpful thank you so much! I'm seriously in LOVE with my new thunder breaker, got him to 4th job in like a day. Any suggestions for key setups? I'm wondering if using a controller would be the best option for me since the keyboard on my laptop isnt set up for comboing
Um for key setup I'm not really sure about it, but I guess I can post a picture of mines?
hey,

I am a new thunder breaker, and actually new to maple entirely. My friend helped me level up to 94 within the last 2 days, and I have a couple of questions regarding TBs.

I understand how to chain skills, and which combos are effective... however..

1) Lightning Buffs -- As I chain my skills, do "Lightning Buffs" accumulate? Like points? And if so, if I accumlate a higher number of buffs... does my attack power increase? How do I know how many Lightning Buffs I currently have? I know Gale only activates if you have a certain number of stacks... But this whole thing is confusing...

2) Stack -- What's the difference between lightning buff and stack? What is stacking?

3) Lightning Punch/Shark Jaw -- According to a recent DPM chart, Thunder Breakers are #6 in highest DPM (while using a chain of Lightning Punch and Annihilate)... But almost all of the guides (if not all) recommend that we don't max out Lightning Punch during our first job (leaving it at 19). Because this is so important for our DPM in 1v1 settings, shouldn't I be maxing Lightning Punch? And maybe not maxing flash?

These are all of my questions... Sorry, I'm a newb

thanks,

1) yes they do stack. 5 is the max number of stacks; they will show it on the upper right hand corner where all the buff icons are. the purpose of lighting buff is to give you extra damage boost base on the number of lighting buff, gives extra hits for annihilate, and adds defense ignore. Before getting the 150 hyper skill, you would want to get 5 stacks of lighting buff first then use gale for the extra % damage boost. Then just use thunderbolt as your main mobbing skill. rinse and repeat once the duration of the gale buff is over.

2) lighting buff is just the name of the buff. stack refers to current number of lighting buff you have.

3) from my experiences, Annihilate + thunderbolt currently does the most damage. the reason why you use it with lighting punch is because the animation of annihilate will come out faster compare to annihilate + thunderbolt (so the level of lighting punch does not matter much). I think that annihilate + lighting punch will out-damage annihilate + thunderbolt only if you hit cap damage or hit a certain range, but i'm not entirely sure about this.

I wouldn't use a controller since thunder breaker has a lot of skills and buffs to use. I recommend that you put all the essential skills close by on the keyboard. Another option is to buy a mechanical keyboard that lets u use macros. set up the macros and you're good to go. You don't have to worry about getting arthritis from spamming too much lolololol
