The Maplestory Economy
Atm Maplestory has a pure capitalistic economy. The absolute best kind of economy for those who want to make money. More opportunity to make cash, but at the expense of the noob/unfunded/refusal to buy NX citizens.
How would you feel if Nexon decided to move Maplestory away from a purely capitalist economy? As in they placed more regulations on what can be bought/sold, how many of a certain item can be bought an sold, where prices can be set, etc. They would also crack down on dupers.
Also how would you feel if they increased taxes on trade and instituted a lottery system (no NX required of course) from the increased taxes? The winner would not receive the full lottery, that would cause an upset, they'd rather receive a percentage of the lottery depending on the size of the winnings.
Personally I would not mind it because the FM prices are outrages and server economies are jacked up to hell.
Please dont just say "This thread is stupid" or something like that. Substantiate your claim and tell me why you think that.

@charles0012: sounding smart was never my intention. I simply spoke what came to mind and responded to each comment that was made simply to heckle me.
I'll be interested when Nexon starts telling us what items to farm, how much of it to farm, and in what period of time, then bans us if we don't.

@Nhil: Good point. I want the increased regulations because only a small group of people control the economies of servers and for people to compete with the prices they've set they either sell at a loss or stay away from the FM

I wouldn't mind increased taxes and more regulation but I feel as if it would completely destroy what's left of the free market.
None of the merchants in the first couple free markets would allow their items to be regulated and sold at a fair price because most of them want moneypak, PP or Nx instead of pure mesos.
You also have to take into account that unlike the real world there is a lot more corruption and ways to go about obtaining mesos and there is little to no punishment. You get a temp or permanent ban but then you can just move to the next account and rinse and repeat.
The lottery would have to be something worth while for them to even think about taking a proportion out as they do in the real world. I'm talking 4~10bil or even an Nx reward of 50,000 prepaid because otherwise it wouldn't even be worth you time to play it.
Also wouldn't Maplestory be more of a Laissez Faire economy because its completely free trade with no trading barriers, no government intervention (minus the price ceiling of 2.3b), little taxation through trade, private buyers and sellers where we determine prices and the quantities we would like to sell and there are strong private property rights (Nexon typically will defend us and protect our accounts to the best of their budget)?
