Building a straw quotrocketquot help

So, in science class we're going to build "rockets" out of straws, paper, and a piece of clay (for the rocket head). Well, its more like a projectile but anyways do you guys have any suggestions as to how I should make it so that it would fly far? We could cut the straw and paper into any size we want and we could use as much clay as we are given. So any ideas Basil?
