Double Down Question

Could someone explain to me how Double Down works? Is it a separate skill, or does it add a Double Down chance when you use Roll of the Dice?

@delmervis: Well, you can compare it with other buffs with the same duration, like Dark Clarity, Admiral's Wings, Infinity Blast, or Jolly Roger.
ROTD CD is 180 and lasts for 180. if you activate DD its 200 CD and lasts for 200 secs. at least thats what i think
Tested it, Double Down's cooldown is indeed 200. Testing for a single dice roll now.
Edit: I got Double 1s, then a 1. Screw testing. D:<
@Kinshima & @Lazer: The cooldown is 180 seconds while the buff lasts for 200 seconds.
Does a single dice roll last for 200 seconds as well?

@delmervis:
You didn't fix anything genius.

The advanced version of the skill is Double Down. You may have to use ROTD to activate double down, but i was speaking of the effects of Double Down.

Not to mention you're necro-ing an old thread for that?

Also, when I roll a 1 after I roll a single die, the effect from the previous die carries over.
So, if I roll a 5, then roll a 1 before the 5 wears off, the 5-effect carries on for another 200 seconds.

@KamikazeDes: That's true. I have never rolled a Double 5 or 6, but of course I've had 1's!
@Lazer: Eh, does it matter whether or not it was a single dice or a Double Down?

Was searching up Double Down effects on Google.
Nope, but it certainly does suck when you roll Snake Eyes.
I find myself waiting all the time to use it again. Are you sure the cooldown and duration are the same?
It says buff duration 200, cooldown 200. For me, it lasts a wee bit longer thanks to the Mechanic card.
Edit: How did this thread get bumped from almost two weeks ago? lol.
This is how double down works. First you set it on a key (preferably one which you can see to be able to see the cooldown).

You press said key. I personally use my index finger, but you know- you do you.

After that, the skill gives you a 50% chance to roll 2 dice instead of 1.

An added bonus is the fact that the cooldown and time of the skill are equal, so you don't have any wait time in between rolls.
Basically it's an "upgrade" skill, where your roll of the dice has a chance to roll two dice. You still continue using your Roll of the Dice buff skill, just that there's an upgrade to it. It's also the same like cannoneer's monkey magic at 2nd job, and mega monkey magic at 4th job.

EDIT: Ninja'd
You use Roll of the Dice and it acts as Double Down, the cool down and duration of your roll last just as long no matter if you roll two dice or one.
So it's like how Wrath of Octopi and Burst Fire buff Octopus and Double Shot respectively?
