Status Update Information This part of the guide will contain information on what I'm currently doing to the guide, and what I'll be doing soon. As of 5/26/2013, to prevent the guide from getting too large, I've decided to delete description solutions and replace them will in-depth, more concise, and official information-filled websites that will help you solve THAT specific problem. This change will take a while to do, since not all solutions are going to be stated in other websites, so I'll replace whatever possible. I'll also need to rearrange the guide sections, to make the more important ones first, and the more in depth ones at the bottom for whoever needs them.
Note PLEASE Use CRTL+F and find keywords which pertain to your problem. Most of the time solutions are within the guide, just try them and experiment! A solution to one problem doesn't means it isn't a solution to another! So make sure you visit and execute everything correctly. Redownloading Maplestory Correctly (Using Website) Introduction: Explaining how to delete and Redownload/install Maplestory successfully (using the normal download from website) -Should fix any startup errors. We all know redownloading this huge game is very irritating, and often times it doesn't work till the 2nd or 3rd download. Use this guide below, and you should be successful every single time. Why does this work? It allows you to delete the files that Maplestory.exe DOES NOT DELETE after you've deleted it, such as the nexon folder, pando media booster, NGM, and whatnot. This allows the problems to stay exactly the same no matter how many times you redownload it- because it's always the same corrupted file being used each time.
This section is finished and functional as of 5/28/2013, please PM if you require assistance for anything.
Step 1: Close ALL active programs, this includes Antivirus scans and anything along those lines. (I recommend restarting the computer) Step 2: Delete the Nexon Folder, typically located in local disk C Step 3: Approach to delete the actual "Maplestory" from All Programs, get here through control panel. (The deletion should be instantaneous, saying it's not installed.) (Located in your programs list, reach here from control panel> uninstall/change applications> scroll down.) Step 4: Delete "Pando Media Booster" and "Nexon Game Manager" (Found exactly where Maplestory is- you can sort the list by name if that helps.) Step 5: Search for anything that has to do with maplestory/nexon/ngm/wizet etc. on your hardrive, and remove it completely. One way to search would be to go to "Run" and click browse, from there use the search engine at the top to find anything that has to do with Maplestory. Step 6: Clean/Scan Local Disk C: also, as an addition, I recommend you "compress" it to save space, if not already done so. (Don't do this if it takes too long.) Step 7: Have a virus/malware scan using your antivirus. (Don't have an Antivirus program? Search Google and find free download trials for one.) Step 8: It would be beneficial to use Internet Explorer/Firefox to download the game from their support site.
